Kirst’s Aunty Pat and I were featured in an article in The Age yesterday! It was all about Craft – Old and New! Other nice people like the CWA and Jennifer from Amitie were also featured. I think that craft is craft. Old, new, no matter. As long as it’s fun!

So go make something, would you?!

Also big ups to the extremely excellent Co-Founder of Brown Owls – Kirsty – without whom there would be NO Brown Owls. Three cheers for the K-Dog!

xx Pip

We had a lovely day in the country yesterday – picked up some great stuff – lots of it’s going straight to Mikes Fitzroy today! Picnic crockery, 60s coffee pots, tea-cups, mugs for the mugzeum, some gorgeous books and even more cool stuff!

I’m keeping this Arabia Jam Pot (it’s missing it’s lid) – but the you’ll find the folksy plate and cup set and the mushroom casserole at Number 63!

(The other day I was walking up Lennox St.. and I smelt someone making jam… mmmm… it smelt all summery and sugary.. and i thought “Make JAM, Pip”.. and now this… well… it only takes 2 cues and I’m off and running – Nigella’s magic raspberry oven jam, here I come!)

More Mirabel softies arriving daily! Yippee! Check the Flickr for latest arrivals – I’ll leave a comment on your photo when your lovely softie touches down!

I still haven’t started my crafter profiles (as promised.. yikes!) I’ll get to that over the weekend I think – and do a mega post… so watch out for that when you check in on Monday!

This week I’ve got lots of cool things to do (apart from Mikes!)… I’m working on my quilty-blankie, starting the gifts for stitching night, organising the bookings for Mikes shopping night in December, starting work on the residence at Brunswick St, a dinner, a market, a wedding, an exhibition and a cocktail thingy too! Plus we have lots of cards to print up today for a lovely bride-to-be! Holy cow.. I must get my coffee soooooooooon!

I love to drink coffee – I could drink it all day – but usually only drink half the cup before I get distracted and it goes cold… I can’t quite come at those special Starbucksy cups that keep it warm.. perhaps if it had some cute lil Japanese illo on it, like Lara’s cosy drink-bottle.. then I could do it.. but it’s gotta be a cup.

We’re cutting some vintage fat quarters up this week – they should be instore by the weekend – some gorgeous 60s and 70s psychadelic prints and paisleys and some stripes too.

And in the coming months we’ll start selling fabric by the metre at Fitzroy – we’re just sorting out our suppliers – so for those of you Northside who want something a bit spesh – we’ll try and cover it a lil bit! Exciting! Cam’s very thrilled to be able to buy some HUGE scissors to wield!

xx mikes

My boyfriend’s parents saved the page for me – hooray! Hope you get rich soon.

As an aside, did you find it interesting that etsy wasn’t mentioned at all? (I did.) Kind of interesting to see what’s happening at http://www.mintd.com too, but I don’t think i’ll be joining.
