Hello Pip-Life

:: Watcha Doing?

April 14, 2012

Hello! Hi! What are you doing?
I’m hanging out at home, listening and watching Coachella. And I’m eating Maggie Beer pate. And I’m working on Spike’s blanket.  I’m doing the washing.  I’m thinking about the best way to blog mobile-like.  I’m making a chicken curry (Ari’s favourite : he’s a bit tonsilly today.)
I’m thinking about finding some borrowed plates that seem to be hiding out after Rin’s wedding. I’m wondering if tablet computers are really any good. I’m trying to get all the things Ari needs for camp on Tuesday. I’m trying to remember to get a mouse pad.
I’m watching a crappy-great new show ‘The Real Housewives of Vancouver’.  I’m waiting to get that ‘We’re on the way’ phone call from my sister who is going to have a baby any day now!  I’m thinking I really need to do some tidying and nice-ing up around the house.  I’m wanting to make an apple crumble. I’m wondering about going to the Market.  I’m hoping for fresh flowers.
I’m feeling like a cup of tea. I’m wanting Telstra will get our internet working properly, because it’s very sluggish. I’m wishing I had the Rachel Khoo Paris cookbook.  I”m contemplating making a Pumpkin, Tofu and Miso Curry.  I’m nursing sore arm from too much typing. I’m wearing silver clogs. I’m wishing for a new cute dress.  I’m wondering how to make the weekend last for an extra day or two.
What are you doing?  Are you doing good things? I’d love to know!

xx Pip

Pip, this just made me smile. That is all, so thank you. Oh wait, it is not quite all. I walked past your shop with the "Meet Me At Mikes" sign still out the front on Saturday with my dog. And I thought "Oh, hello, Pip," even though you don't know me. Now that is all.

Pip, it's so nice to hear about what you're doing, and what everyones doing actually. I will go to Farmers Market this morning then visit a friend. Then home to get bookwork done for tax date with accountant. yuck. But after that I might have a tizzy up of something in the house to feel better. How exciting you will get to meet a new baby soon! Hope it all goes well. sue x

I'm watching Wall-E in the background while I catch up on my blog reading. I am also enjoying the smell of the orange chocolate and macadamia nut cookies (just out the oven) that has filled my flat.

So many things Pip! (Nearly wrote Pipi, which is my dad's name…). I am watching my dude watch the America's Cup yacht races, and wondering what he is finding interesting about it. I am finishing writing the synopsis for a teen novel I wrote, and feeling excited and nervous about sending it to a publisher soon (eeeeeeeeek! What am I doing???!!!). I am getting ready to go and do a final check of the babes before bed. I am feeling (just quietly) a little bit hungry, even this late at night, and wondering what I could perhaps find to eat. I am about to watch some Grandma's House episodes on Youtube (best britcom ever!). I am wondering how long my sugar fast will last (and admiring accidental rhymes). I am lying on the carpet and reading blog posts and wondering what I will next post on my own, in the absence of all things crafty.

Hope that baby call reaches you soon! That's a very exciting kind of waiting!

I'm having a relaxing Saturday night in, sewing the owl from the pattern in the Owl Know How book, listening to music and planning what to see in the last week of the Comedy Festival…oh, and I'm also wishing I had a new cute dress! ๐Ÿ™‚

oh my god oh my god oh my god. I just died a little bit. I read your blog every single day. Every single post and I love you to pieces, even though I don't comment really ever. I love popping in here and reading all your Aussie stuff, and music and crafty goodness because it's different from what I see on the other side of the globe…you see I'm from Vancouver, and I can't even believe they made a real housewives of Vancouver, and I definitely can't watch it! I can't believe you're watching it, that is so funny! I tried, and it's so awful. I've lived here for almost 30 years, and I live on the Westside, which is choc-a-block full of filthy rich people – and none of them are like that. And it's really strange to see them showing off restaurants and places like they are all fancy and high-end, when they are really regular old places where everybody goes for a beer or a lunch. Sure, Vancouver has its fancy pants spots, but we're pretty down to earth for the most part and the the city has the nick-name "The No Fun City" because we don't have a lot of culture or events and such. These real housewives bitches are crazy! Please don't judge my beautiful city by those insane ladies!

I'm wishing for the weekend to have an extra day too because I have lots of seeds to plant in my garden and not enough time to do it!

Well today was special. The sun was shining warmly and I was dressed up in a skirt (it's April in Tasmania and I savoured being in summery gear). A friend suggested we check out an annual sculpture trail exhibition at Birches Bay. We had lunch in the restaurant there – beautiful salmon and salad. We went to a Grandewe cheesery down the road, sampled their products and had a coffee and sheeps milk icecream whilst taking in the view over the D'Entrecastaux channel. We bought a special cheese each and went on to Cygnet to a fantastic chocolate shop. Then an hours drive home along the Huon River. Bliss!

Oh Pip – I am helping my youngest (18) pack up his stuff so he can move to the city. I am hoping I don't miss him too much. I am thinking he will miss me a little bit. I am trying not to cry. I am planning to eat yummy stuff and watch Miss Fisher on iView. sigh

    Let's see…

I was crocheting granny squares for a baby blanket.

Then I went to dinner with my kids and my fiance, where we discussed getting a dog.

Then I worked on a wee purse for my niece's second birthday whilst the Fiance and I were watching Buffy and Angel.

Then we went out for gelato–I had peach bellini and stole bites of my daughter's limoncello.

After we got home, I worked on a ripple blanket for my soon-to-be-born nephew whilst the fiance and my son played Little Big Planet.

And now? Now I'm yawning my head off and going to bed. G'night! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Wow what a great list!
I'm eating breakfast with my girls in Ireland, hoping for a peaceful day and the chance to do a little crochet. Also hoping my husband isn't back too late from Spain!
    Have a great weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm visiting your blog. I'm saying hello. I'm telling you about what I am doing.

I'm blogging about the holidays, about crocheting and family. I'm watching lovely inspirational YouTube clips about kids building things with boxes and old minds waking up when hearing the music of their youth. I'm thinking about my blog and how I can be a better blogger. I'm thinking it's a bit too hard.

I am on my own today. I am at work. It's a very quiet day.

    It's a lovely day.
