When we were on the shoot the other day, we were enjoying the CD collection at the house we were using – and being reminded of lots of great music we had all forgotten we love.
Time and time again, someone would say… ‘OH! THIS SONG SO REMINDS ME OF…’ insert ‘travelling in Bulgaria’, ‘my first boyfriend’, ‘being on a train’. And a story would follow about why and how.
Do YOU have a particular song or album or gig that marks a point in your life? Something that gives you goosebumps and transports you somewhere else everytime you hear it.
I am sure you have lots, as i do…. I’m starting with THIS one. Reminds me of lying by the pool on our first overseas family holiday – watching big planes carve a path through a cloudless blue sky – drinking icy beer and dipping my toes into a rather crowded pool. The smell of wood-fired pizza in the air. Grinning.
Also – this one – jumping on the bed, eating homemade pizza, diaries open, admiring the red cassette deck and matching bedroom suite of my childhood best friend. Trying VERY hard to write down all the lyrics to said song (good luck with that!).
And – this one – cleaning my cafe at the end of a long, fun day cooking and making my customers happy!
