:: Tim Gunn: The Natty Professor

March 23, 2015

I stumbled across this great piece about how Tim Gunn (of Project Runway and Parsons School Of Fashion) spends his Sundays. It made me so happy, I thought you might love it too. I adore Tim Gunn. He’s such a sweet person (from what I can tell!) I loved taking a peek into his day and hearing about his habits and motivation. I hope you do too!

Tim has a new book out. You can see that here.

PS: Gosh. It’s so dark in the mornings, isn’t it? All inky skies and undulating leafy waves… So intense!

PPS: I have such a sore throat. The change in seasons is so nice, but so potentially spluttery, isn’t it?

It cracked me up just now to see that you linked this. I saw it in the paper and was stunned! I walk my dog in Central Park on Sunday mornings! I normally have my eyes glued to my doggie girl to make sure she doesn’t jump in the boat pond but now I need to be on the lookout!

My idea of heaven! Do keep an eye on your asthma Pip. This weird weather always plays havoc with my sons asthma.

Releasing such information is dangerous — I now want to go to the Met on a Sunday and see if I can happen upon him. He’s so honest, and kind, and classy. I wish I could survive the world with such a brave, giving soul. He seems lonely, but able to still enjoy things so fully.

I am guessing he will change his habits – and I love it that he used this opportunity to promote the arts. He’s a wonderful fellow, isn’t he. I think he’s comfortable with himself, rather than lonely. (But you are not the first person toe say he might be lonely, by any means!)

Thanks for sharing this Pip. I blimmin’ adore Tim Gunn. If only we could all spend Sunday’s like this (one day…when my kids have grown). “Make it work”

He’s just the best, isn’t he? I love watching him and I loved reading about his day SO MUCH! xx

Me too! If I was single and living in London, I’d definitely spend a day a week at the British museum, sucking it all up. Bliss. But my husband said he found the article sad (he loves Tim Gunn too, and is surprisingly a massive fan of Project Runway, yay) and that it made him feel that Tim must be really lonely if he’s not sharing those types of experiences with anyone. I beg to differ!

Aw that’s so interesting! I can see what he means, for sure. I think Tim Gunn is always surrounded by people and alone time must be such a blissful treat! What a lovely, caring fella you have, Lynn… x
