I got these things yesterday….

From the top:

1982 Dolly Magazine from the Salvation Army – I actually remember staring at the cover of this when i was a teen gal and fixing my hair like this for the school disco.

Le Petit Esquimau – bought on eBay months ago, finally arrived by sea mail – along with some Martine books illustrated by my fave – Marcel Marlier.

Ballerina Prints from the Solomon and Whitehead Picture Prints Catalogue – also from the Salvation Army – full of gorgeous 50s prints for above your mantle

Page 37 of Kathie Webber’s New World Young Cooks’ Book – Sponge Buns – from the Salvos again

And lastly – the owl and the pussycat softies pattern – from the Golden Hands ‘Creative Patchwork’ book.

Enjoy – and enter our Macaroni Contest.. see previous post! We have had a few ace entries… we need more!

xx mikes

I’m making the owl at the moment and trying very hard to figure out hw it fits together – probably quite basic but it’s been years since I sewed. This might be an “ask mum” question… I will post the pics when completed!!

Yay Dolly! My sis and I had all those way back when. I’ve still got a good 70’s and 80’s Dolly collection now.
Oooh, those ballerina pics…I collect those too, because we used to have little round ones in cream bakelite frames when we were little.
    Yay to op-shop scores!

That owl and pussycat pattern is so great! Did they have Dolly Doctor in that edition?

My God – I have that Dolly!! I have kept about 20 of my Dolly magazines from the mid 80’s as they are so evocative of my school years plus they are hysterical. They are at the beach house and whenever I take girlfriends down we pour over them and have so much fun reminicsing.
