South Riding with David Morrissey. Fantastic. The costumes are To.Die.For. I have watched this series thanks to My Mum and I loved it! The cardigans and jumpers in it are amazing!! You will love it!

Yes, I loved South Riding, when it was shown here in the uk. There's a novel to accompany it, might be worth a look. Mildred Pierce look great too, will have seek this one out. bee x

South Riding is really wonderful, it looks amazing and the acting is cracking! I read the book after it was on TV in Blighty and I loved it.
Can't wait for Mildred and Jane either.
The BBC also did a dramatisation of the Crimson Petal and The White recently which was sublimely good, and The Night Watch, from the book by Sarah Waters is coming up soon….so I am planning on parking my bum on the sofa and feasting on these televisual wonders! Catch them if you can xxx

BBC just know how to do period dramas!! I was an extra in a couple when living in England I remember having to go to Goathland (heartbeat country) at the old steam railway station waving good by to this guy who was suppost to be my husband going of to war we had to kiss & wave hee ohh the things you do for art tee hee!!!
I want to see Black Swan never made it to the movies waitting to get it out on DVD but never seem to get the chance at the moment :(, so looking forward to Jane Eyre though :)))
Oh Oh Oh – cant believe I forgot to say "Portlandia" – little clips are on Youtube. Many will have seen the "put a bird on it" one but you must see others. As well as the early pre-Portlandia series Thunderant. Too funny.

Yes, Mildred Pierce is worth the time invested. I have just watched a couple of short British series- Exile (3 parts), and another called Injustice (5 episodes). From the US a fine remaking of The Killing (Danish original very good but subtitles prevent multitasking) and also great US production of the UK series Shameless with William H Macy and Joan Cusack.
Have seen Boardwalk and high marks- have Treme now to watch next.
On the trashy reality front the new series of Top Chef Masters is fun.
ooh Mildred Pierce, Great Aunt Joan shall be turning in her grave at the thought of a remake. I look forward to seeing it.

It is a Scorsese production. I don't know of other series he has been involved in but I Highly recommend it!
