Yippee! We’ve started scanning our swap cards! Here are the first lot for your viewing pleasure!
Some of us are old enough to sigh with content every time we set eyes on cards like these. I remember collecting them when I was about 7 – crouching on the floor of the newsagent in Hobart, sorting through a cardboard box of fresh swap cards and trying desperately to decide which of them was far to gorgeous to leave behind. I think they were about 5c each.. and a little paper bag full felt like such treasure. I still adore them, but wish i could see them with 7 year old eyes again. Everything looked peachier at 7.
If you like these you might want to have a peep at the Flickr group too!
xx mikes

love these! i have quite a few too- keep meaning to add them to the flickr group!
my heart is melting…
Some of them are so lovely – I love the fawn one!
When you say ‘some of are old enough…’, how old do you mean? I used to collect swap cards when I was a kid in the early/mid-90s. Seeing your post I went and got my collection out again and it seems I have a lot in that 70s style, but I think they may have been reprinted? I remember buying a lot at toy shops!
thanks for sharing 🙂 there is some really pretty ones in here. Can I swap ??
oooh, i love those old swap cards! we used to have special albums for them…
I love swappies too. I’ve tried to get the girls to love them but no luck. Remember when you were swapping how you flicked past your favourites really fast?
