We stitched at Mikes last night.. 3 cancellations and 3 no-shows kept it small and sweet! Unfortunately my camera was playing up – so not all the shots are here.. but send me a photo of your finished work gals.. so i can upload it to Flickr and the blog too! A fun time was had by all (esp Rin and Brooke who decided to lie on the floor and stitch due to ‘stitchers back’!)
For those of you not familiar with our stitching nights… (we don’t usually lie on the floor) we have two more coming up in October – on the 14th and the 28th. If you’d like to book in – they commence at 7pm – please don’t come early or us gals don’t get time to eat before we start! The cost is $15 – a bargain that includes all materials – plus cupcakes, biscuits, cordial, champagne and cups of tea. There are door prizes and general stitchy fun. You don’t need to be able to sew at all – but if you can that’s fine – we can help you find a nice project to suit your skill level.
If you have a special design you would like to embroider – then you can email it to me at least a week before your date – and I’ll have it all ready to stitch on a lovely tea-towel. Otherwise we will have lots of pre-transferred tea-towels ready to go. For inspiration, go visit sublime stitching – we have 100 of their lovely transfers arriving early next week.
To confirm a place – paypal us $15 to mike(at)meetmeatmikes(dot)com – or come into the store and pay! We’re being really strict this time – so only confirmed bookings are allowed – so gals don’t miss out (we could have had 6 more girls last night!).
Don’t forget swap and share is coming up on September 23rd – this is a fun night where you share some of your favourite vintage or new crafty books/mags, and you swap 5 vintage (pre-1980) pillowcases with other gals – and you can shop at a 15% discount too.
I’m catching up on my Encyclopedia of Mikes Ordinary Life later today! And to those people who have had trouble loading our blog over the last few days – I’ve made a few technical changes (Thanks Lisse) – so hopefully it’s working now! And a big thankyou to you KIRSTY – for.. something!
xx mikes

Oh, you’ve been stood up, how sad. Look at all of us who’d love to come, i appreciate the distances, it’s 5000km for moi. Love Posie
I really love the idea of this! I have my own little retro transfer design sitting at home looking very tempting! At a 3hr flight I’m a little closer, but may have to pop in the next time I visit the family in Melbourne!
