This is our garden. It’s a long narrow walled courtyard with a bit of an old pergola up top. When we moved here a year ago it had this tree and lots of old dirt and that’s about it. As you can see, we have promptly filled it up with all our bits and pieces, and as you might know we’ve finally got around to planting some stuff.
Here’s what we have now – some of it we planted a while ago, and some of it its freshly planted this week…
Capsicums, Lettuces and Rocket, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Carrots, Eggplant, Silverbeet, Pumpkin, Beans, Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Thai Basil, Parsley, Mint, Oregano
In the flowery department we have : marigold and sunflower seeds waiting to pop up, cosmos, hydrangeas, geraniums, jasmine and bougainvillea
I ordered some seeds from this site – some chinese vegies and snow peas and sugar snap peas. And we’re going to get a Fruit Salad Tree from here when the weather cools down a bit. It’s totally Magic Faraway Tree that you can have four different fruits (in the same fruity family) growing on the same tree, isn’t it?!
This week we also got lots of mulch from Ceres – the magical expanding peaty type you add water to and also some Lucerne because Emma said it would do excellent things to the soil. We have a Bokashi stink-free composting system on the way which is going to give us great composty juice to use as liquid fertiliser and great pickly compost to dig into the garden too.
So all the right moves are being made to create a really pretty and productive garden! I can’t wait to see where we are at this Spring – and how it has all come along and what worked and what didn’t.
Next week I’m going to print some bags with my Gocco and finish off some dresses that I started this week before the gardening distracted me. What are you doing, I wonder? Are you making or cooking or gardening or reading or beaching or walking…. or what?
xx Pip

oh well done on your gardening efforts. my husband is a landscaper man and mad about veggie gardens so i am very lucky and have a decent supply of fresh veggies from our own balcony or his other garden. last night we pulled some purple carrots and they were so sweet and delicious!
