I took my big walk this morning at half past six. And I was thinking about Ethel-Loves-Fred, and how I haven’t done my six things! So here are six things I thought of on my walk.
Ahem… SIX THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY TODAY – by Pip
- I don’t like Jim Beam Bongo Drums and I don’t want any – even though they are looking black and shiny and resplendent in the window of the bottle shop, they are not for me, and I’m glad that I don’t like them. But i am so HAPPY that other people might. Good for them.
- I am so HAPPY that i have a very huge latte on my desk while I am typing this and the whole house sleeps. I wish I had the guts to have the skinny milk. But alas I have the fat milk. And I have the guts to show for that. In a pretty way. Not in a galumphy way.
- I am so HAPPY that I have a roof over my head and a cute little shop and nice family and lovely friends and heaps of nice people who bother to read what I write. I’m not being all Pollyanna and PC. I really truly think about this every day. And it makes me really so much happier then you would know. So thank you. Thank you roof, thank you shop, thank you family, thank you friends, thank you reading people. So nice to live amongst you all.
- I am so HAPPY that my walk is dotted with beautiful things like street art and misty streetlamps and shop windows winking with pretty things and gleaming sloshy puddles and clouds of steam shooting from big buildings and lost trinkets on the footpath and baking smells and empty cafe’s all lit up and waiting. I’m really HAPPY to witness all the lovely little treats we take for granted. In a Pollyanna way.
- I am so HAPPY that I wrote today’s to-do list yesterday. It makes me feel way ahead of the pack already on a day full of meetings and shopkeeping and kids-home-from-school and making and baking and grocery shopping and Brown Owls. I like to feel a bit organised. It keeps me in my HAPPY place.
- I am HAPPY about colour. I like it. I like it that the world is not just black and white.
I would like to tag: Milk Moon, Hoochie–Coochie, Bug and Pop, PottyMouth Mama, Pigeon Pair and Cloth and Fodder
But really – if I’ve tagged you and you don’t want to do it – you don’t have to. You won’t have 27 years bad luck or anything like that. It’s not like a chain letter. Your mail box will not explode, I swear. This is more of a creative challenge. And sometimes we don’t feel so creative. Just challenged. So it would make me HAPPY if you decide whether to do this or not. Oh no. That’s SEVEN things.
xx Mikes
