Aw hai! Look! Cam took this photo of me today. I had a bit of a weird morning, so we headed to Port Melbourne beach via Noisette (a really great bakery!) for a bit of a cheer up. We had a little coffee and sweet things picnic in the back of the car, watching some dogs play and the waves lap. Nice, huh? Then we saw my friend Jo which was the best surprise. Then we got some fish and chips and took them home for the kids. It all turned out pretty nicely. (One fun thing about kids growing up? You get to sneak out and do stuff while they are still getting their teenage sleep. It’s pretty cute. It’s a little bit 52 dates!)
Hope you are well and not having weird mornings. Mine actually started off really great and then went to seed: I got up really early, did some yoga – I know! Me! Yoga! I love it! – had a coffee, did some work, had some toast, watched an episode of Orange Is The New Black… then BAM. Seed. Dang. Still, I worked through the seed with some comfort eating and a bit of gumboot wrestling. (That is an actual thing.)
In this photo I am wearing my The Queen outfit, in honour of the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. This is my favourite outfit at the moment. It has a matching jacket and I got it for $10 at the op shop because the (home-made) skirt has a hole in it. Later, I couldn’t get my gumboots off because I made the fatal error of thinking I’d skip the socks because I was in a hurry. I sat on the couch and Cam tried to pull them off. He succeeded in pulling me off the couch on to the floor, so that was a good start. Later, I clung to the couch and he managed to tug them loose.
At the moment I am reading this Maggie Alderson book. And listening to this book. DOUBLE book-y trouble in the best kind of way. I really don’t read enough fun stuff so I’m going to make more of an effort to cut loose a bit and get some Maggie and Sophie and the like into my life (inspired by this post!)

You know, I’m thinking of doing a bakery tour. I want to go here next! They have Kouign Amann!
How was your day, loves?
x Pip
