I don’t seem to need much anymore… in fact if I go to bed at 10pm – I’ll be awake tossing and turning by 3am… 5 hours is about the go.. Why do you need less sleep as you get older? Is it because you’re not growing anymore..? Hmmm…

It’s really so much fun! I love to sew because…. I love to look at beautiful (usually thrifted) fabrics. I love learning. I love to follow a pattern.. there’s a certain comforting order to it. You know that if you read and sew carefully, you’ll have something lovely to show for it. I like that. In a life where there are no guarantees.. you can usually count on sewing to not let you down!

I live on a really busy street. There is lots of noise from cars and trams and people. It makes me feel safe and sound to know that people are streaming past my house all day and night. In the morning, when I wake up and it’s still dark, i know that it’s time to get up once the building starts ‘thunking’ from approaching trams. If in the bathtub.. the water shudders and the thunks echo through the tub! It sounds a bit intrusive, but it really isn’t.

I like to make sure that people feel special. Sometimes, I’m not feeling so special myself, so I don’t quite hit the mark. But I really do try.
