Hello

Q is for…

Quilt…
OK.. I’ve never made one before.. but I was getting up to ‘Q’ and I thought it would be the perfect time to give it a whirl.. I referred to Amy Karol’s Lap Quilt Pattern – and then sort of went off on a bit of a tangent…. arriving at the above quilt. It’s single bed size – and I started with Ari’s gorgeous (but ripped) blue polka-dot flat sheet – which i cut into strips – then I added in the other bits of vintage fabric (except the red and white polka-dots, which was left over from the kitchen curtains, and is from Spotty). I am up to the hand-stitching part of the binding – which I love… It is nice to sit n stitch. I’m a bit proud of myself! I did it!
Ps – check out Amy’s post about the latest Mattel toy recall…

Quiet Corner…
Lots of quiet little corners about my room on room house.. mostly gathering dust.. but often gathering nice things… (That’s a Belle and Boo print right there)
Quip…
I love a quip.. I’m a bit of a terror in the shop.. always ready with a not-thought-out one liner… but they’re never at anyones’ expense (except my own!) – and I’m just a show off.. so I can’t really help it.

Question…
I question myself every day. Not in a doubting way.. more in a ‘How could I have done that better’ way. Most days I will walk around the shop and question how I can make it nicer. Also, if I am making something.. I’ll always question along the way ‘How could I make this easier and more efficient’… And if i’m cooking, the same sort of thing, ‘What would make this taste even better?’… I’m just a sucker for IMPROVEMENT!
xx Mikes

Well done Pip!!! It’s hard to take the plunge into quilting, then you just need to keep making them. I only made Shamus a quilt last year (think very busy Cowboys) but since I see so many of Posie’s beautiful creations for customers, I think I just need to change it again!!! xxx

Thank you Queen Pip, what a great quilt for Prince Ari, great work.
I just popped over to say congratulations on a mention from Michi Girl today. Paper airplanes are part of our lives, love them, especially dipped in sterling silver. Oh, like Kirsty, i have saved all my children’s beautiful clothes to make quilts for them (& me, when they leave home), with everything from their leaving hospital ensembles to favourite toddler boardshorts & jeans. I can’t wait to see them all chopped up & mixed up. It’s something Posie plans to specialise in later, like how i hack into very brave ladies wedding dresses to create patchwork heirlooms. Love Posie

    Hi Pip

I love your quilt! I love the idea of being wrapped up in something filled with so much love & history while you sleep or cuddle on the couch. I’ve saved every pair of the kid’s pj’s for just such a project.
