After another lovely evening at the hospital with Rin (who still has tonsils resembling baby beets, I might add) – I decided to draw a peachy scented bath, pour a glass of wine and start reading ‘Little O’.. which Brooke gave me a long time ago… Oh such a sweet tale of dressing a cat in a christening gown and pushing it down the road in an old pram… sigh.
Pippi Longstocking (thanks Jennie!), My Naughty Little Sister and Little O were favourites of mine when i was about 8… in fact I think most Puffin books were dear to my heart.. and I am still, to this day, enamoured with Puffins (and books) of all kinds.
Anything full of ‘hurrah’, ‘gracious’ or ‘run along’ had my vote.. possibly because my house was more of a.. ‘bugger’, ‘crap’ and ‘i’ll rip your bloody arms off’ type of scene… in the nicest possible way!
Also.. I think I liked this book because the family were called the Pip-Larssons.
So anything Pip-ish was fine with me!
xx mikes

Thank you for reminding me of this little book, one of my best favourites when I was little!
My naughtly little sister is one of my faves…I still treasure my copy!
Ive never heard of Little O!
oh yes! hurrah for penny-cillan.. our own pharmaceutical imaginary friend! Rin is on the mend now.. thankyou all for your kind thoughts and messages! xx pip
oh my goodness, I’ve had exactly the same lovely yellow copy of Little O since I was little myself, and have loved it almost to tatters! it’s delightful, isn’t it? I like when she becomes a model troll… hope all improves on the hospital front soon.
So sorry to hear about the tonsils. Surely some massive doses of antibiotics would be kicking in soon? Either way, hope all is well again soon.
