What a fabulous idea! I especially like the fact that it could be any color combo you want – so if you can't find the right rug – make it!
On an unrelated note, are you still doing the words and pictures? I haven't seen it mentioned lately.

I also really liked one on T.V. this one was on The Nanny, was done in green with flowers in some of the afghan squares. Looked awesome. I will also have to make one for myself. I just have to work out how to start with a flower in the middle and work it into a square.

I remember absolutely lusting after the black edged granny square rug which used to hang over the back of the couch in episodes of "Roseanne" when I was in school. I begged my mum to make one for me (for my bed) and she finally relented only to back out of the black edging at the last minute…she did it in green instead. The blanket was lovely but I never had my black-edged-granny-need fulfilled! Now that I can crochet myself, I should get round to doing that. This one is absolutely superb!
