Oh heavens! You have NO idea how excited I am!
On Sunday – I spent most of the day packing up half of my house (the cool stuff – not the unwashed socks or anything like that) – so I could pile it all into the car (with the kids) and head to day one of our photo shoot for the Mikes craft book! Oh pinch me, do! The first Australian Craft Book to profile the projects of contemporary Australian crafters!
We are shooting in a lovely house in Melbourne’s inner city. It’s full of light, love and family-ness. Just perfect for the look that we want. An adorable couple and their adorable little girl are sharing it with us for the next few days – which is nice of them, don’t you think?!
There’s over twenty different crafters and projects featured – and it’s been super-good setting up the shots and making the most of the lovely things they have made for the book.
Cam and I have been trying to balance the book things with the shop things and the kid things – and can i quietly admit – it has not been easy!!!! But i think we’ve nearly pulled it off. Hurrah!
Super awesome Tim James – food photographer extrordinaire is shooting our book – and it’s been nice to get re-aquainted, as he shot the store for SHOP TIL YOU DROP a couple of years ago. Lovely Sim from Ortolan has been a delight to work with – reining in my more is more approach in the kindest way. Ellie from Hardie Grant is just pretty. Can’t stop looking at her. And she has a lovely accent too. And always nice make-up, don’t you know. And Mary from Hardie Grant is the Supergoodness. She knows what I mean. And that’s rare. So big props to Small.
Okey doke – I have dinner to make and stitching to do and a project to complete and drawings to finish in the next few days. And more photos. And a party. And walking too. So I’d best be off with hugs and big fat winks in your direction.
xx Pip
