I really like Metric. I discovered them via Pancake Mountain (the cool rock n roll kids show filmed in New York) – and their vocalist Emily sings with Broken Social Scene too(along with other great people like Feist). She has a great voice and she’s cute..
You should watch this tiny documentary – because it has some cool stuff to say about getting inspired and how important PEOPLE are to being creative. I like the way she says she was inspired by PEOPLE more then architecture. I feel EXACTLY like that. It’s all about PEOPLE for me. I love ’em. (Even the ones that I don’t like!)
I think it’s great to find out that being creative is all about friends and food and reading and light and colour – it’s not about being in a box marked ‘PHOTOGRAPHER’ or ‘CRAFTER’ – it’s about having a wide-eyed, good humoured, detail-loving,committed attitude to all the things you do.
Metric’s new album is out soon. I reckon it’ll be a corker.
