:: Making Progress : Vintage Fan Ripple Blankie!

July 6, 2012

I just wanted to show you the blanket that I am trying to find time to make…  It’s coming along slowly but surely! I am a bit in love with it, actually. I think it’s turning out super pretty!

What are you making? Or do you want to make something, but aren’t quite sure how?

Do tell!

xx Pip

PS: I do say blankie. Did you ever see the episode of New Girl where she talks about blankies? It’s so funny. Do you watch that show?

PPS: I have been watching Parenthood with Ari a lot, lately. We like to talk about morals and behaviour and rules after we/as we watch it.

PPPS: It’s Friday! OMG!

PPPPS: Do you like banana bread? Do you have a fave banana bread recipe? I have only used the PWMU one, but I was wondering which other ones are good.

PPPPPS: Sorry about all the PSs

Keep going on the blanket – it's looking fantastic!
I finished my little version of one (http://bearlovesdove.com/2012/06/28/gelato-fans/), loved it so much, started another, in chunky yarn (from Bendigo Woollen Mills), found it was far too wide to be a blanket, but persisted thinking it'd work out, then after 3 fan sections in very long rows, taking too many hours to mention, I unpicked it all ๐Ÿ™ … Back to chain one with not so many fans accross it this time ๐Ÿ™‚
    ps.I love parenthood too.
pps. I say blankie too but haven't seen the new girl ep you mentioned.
    ppps. I like all your ps's ๐Ÿ™‚

The ripple blanket is looking so pretty! I love the colours. I finally learnt how to knit so I am practising my stitches on a little strawberry pink knit scarf. I love Parenthood too! It's a perfect mix of drama and humour isn't it?

3 years on and I'm STILL working on the granny square patch blanket that exhorted me to learn how to crochet. * sigh * This retro pattern you're working on is great though. That can be the next blanket project!

I love this project of yours! I'm in the midst of designing a knitted blanket for my four year old daughter, and have been doing some little dishclothes and such.

I LOVE PARENTHOOD its like THE show! I would love a healthy banana bread recipe, I have been using the Aldi packet one, its nice, and I never use packet mixes!

Love the fan/shell pattern, it's so pretty and different!

Deb's Jacked-up Banana Bread will knock your socks off (http://smittenkitchen.com/2006/11/speckled-for-the-freckled/) – no kidding! There's a hint of booze even (which, being dry July, you can leave out, but all the alcohol cooks out, and the taste is very excellent!)

Hmmm, gotta go make banana bread now!

Oh, that blanket is going to be gorgeous. I'm sewing lots of clothes for my boys at the moment. The more I make the more I keep adding to my 'To do' list though. Very excited about the next thing on the list though as I'll be using Spoonflower fabric with my first ever design.

I have been making so much banana bread lately, all using the Hummingbird Bakery recipe which is delicious.

    Yay for Friday ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hubba, Hubba! I love Parenthood!

Ooooh, pretty! The banana bread recipe in Rodale's Basic Natural Foods Cookbook is my go-to recipe. It has no sugar, includes wheat germ, wheat bran, and whole wheat flour, and I substitute applesauce for most of the oil and add cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. You would never know it is healthy because it stays nice and moist! You can even swap grated zucchini for the mashed bananas, too, yum!

I am still going on my basic blanket. Spotty stopped selling my colours do I've had to do a re-think in the that. I'm not entirely happy but it'll be ok.

I LOVE Parenthood! Such a great show. I'm hiring the next season while I'm on holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

I do have a great banana bread recipe! It's from an old WW cookbook I borrowed from my sister-in-law 11 years ago & never gave back…whopps! Let me know if you want it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have missed a lot of New Girl ( I got caught up in The Block). I really need to catch up on that one because I really like it.
