Wow.. I did it! I followed carefully the pattern in ‘The Crafters Companion’ and made a few little Mikes adjustments and VOILA! Here is my tissue box cover house – as designed by my paper crane! Tissues are supposed to come out the chimney! I think if i made one twice as big.. it would be an excellent tea-cosy! The instructions were easy to follow.. and I love how the fabrics look together – very cute 70s chic! The hardest things were sewing the chimney on by hand.. and sewing the apple face shape on.. the rest was easy-peasey!
Yay! Thanks so much Heidi!

great job
Hey Pip, that is too cute…might have to cover a few tissue boxes myself…
OR you could make a really big one and it could be a nappy dispenser! Hee hee. You are not going to believe this but I actually DID buy you a book in Castlemaine! I will bring it in ASAP!
My best friend in primary school had a house shaped sewing box. Boy did I love it.
I’d like to see a photo with the tissues coming out now. Great fabric combo.
AAwww, what a happy little tissue house. I love the little lady rocking away in the attic, it’s just too cute!
The apple face just makes it ๐

Wonderful work Pip! It’s adorable! The fabrics are gorgeous – especially the girl on the rocking chair ๐ I’m not fond of handsewing either (clumsy fingers) but you did an excellent job – love the apple-shaped face.
