Hello

I Made This Today…

May 19, 2009

Lion In The Meadow Clutch, originally uploaded by meetmeatmikes.

It’s a pvc covered clutch made from the lovely book ‘A Lion In The Meadow’.
I’m going to keep tissues, bandaids and panadol in it.
In case I meet a lion.
I might need those things then, right?
I made that chai too.
Sipping it now, actually.

xx Pip

Gorgeous clutch. I hope he is a friendly lion… or a least a cowardly one you can talk ’round!

Oh Pip, I do love your storybook wallets! I gave a bunch of them for Christmas pressies last year, you may be pleased to know there are several people in Canberra very happy with you!

Word verfication: dedscar (perhaps a clue as to what you would recieve if by chance you should meet a lion)!

What an adorable idea! I’ll be scrounging for old storybooks to make into a clutch myself now.

Hmm… make up case is a good idea too Jessi!

Thanks to everyone for your Lion Taming tips – you guys totally know your scary mammals.

so cute! I bought my best friend one for her birthday from your shop and we both love it!! 🙂 I thought a make up-ish case would be a good use for it, however your idea is also fab especially if you happen to cross a lion 😉

I just bought clear non sticky PVC and sewed it all together!

  • AnnLuise May 19, 2009 at 6:53 AM

    Dear Pip,
I am another one who wants to know how you coverd the paper in PVC. What a wonderful idea, cute and really need (thinking about the lions sneaking arround all over), love AnnLuise

It’s made from a vintage storybook page sandwiched between pieces of pvc and sewn together! Then some press studs and voila! Thanks for the nice comments!

An absolutely necessary clutch, and so pretty. My word verification here is something you could shout at the lion, too: epparigh! maybe he would need the panadol then.

  • Primrose May 19, 2009 at 6:36 AM

That looks fabbo. How did you make it? I’m curious as well. Or is this in your book?:)

  • Rebecca May 19, 2009 at 6:11 AM

That’s so lovely, but I don’t understand how you made the book into the pvc… I might be completely misunderstanding what you meants though!

I also really like that love heart fabric!
