:: I Finished This Birthday Blankie!

 

Ta-dah!

Zoe’s blanket is all done. I decided to crochet a super simple edge in yellow to anchor the whole colourful shebang! I just hooked all the way around in DC twice. And then around one last time in TR. (Those are UK/AU crochet terms!)

I was going to do a fancy edge, but honestly, sometimes less is more, especially when you have lots of colour like this. I think the neat edge pulls it all together nicely. Just perfect for a small girl, right?!

I’ve been crocheting, doing a bit of work, drinking tea, watching ‘The Good Wife’, shopping for Max’s 18th birthday prezzies with Ari… What?! I know. Max will be 18 on Tuesday. I can’t believe it myself. He’s turned out really great, so that is a relief. Phew. That’s 2 adults I’ve turned out so far. There’s just one more to go. (Sob!)

In other news, I ordered a whole bunch of DK yarn to make a BIG blanket and I’m going to start on that next week. I also need to reboot my Nanna Birthday blanket squares or I’ll be caught short. I’m so stoked that the book is pretty much done because… craft! Woot!

Yesterday I had breakfast with Kirst and then helped Max do his resume (for a cafe job!) I’ve been trying to get his ID sorted so he has proof of age and it’s QUITE hard to do! Have you ever tried to organise a Keypass? It’s a bit dumb.  They need to sort that out.

I also went for a huge walk for The Walking Book Club and came back with a massive blister. Which is now really sore. And I can only wear shoes that don’t rub. So I went into town with Ari wearing Ugg Boots. Because I am a secret bogan. Yep. Ouch. But I will walk on. I will.

Now, I’m going to  cook dinner from this lovely book (I know, it’s a contradiction!) There’s a really nice rice-y recipe in there and also lots of other good recipes.
