Hello! How are you? I’m good. I am.
On the weekend I finished my book. My manuscript. It’s done (for now!) I can’t quite believe it. I had forgotten the combined feeling of sadness/elation/lightness that comes when the book is ready to go off to the publisher. I’m pretty pleased. Phew.
I have been working away at things, but not really showing them off too much. I’ve been working on the book. I’ve been working on my fitness (I just started Couch To 10kms after successfully completing Couch To 5kms a while ago!) I’ve been working on some granny-crocheted things. I’ve been working on this scarf. It’s called the She Blinded Me With Science scarf. I really love it. It’s super fun to make. I’m making a project for Frankie and preparing my slides for ProBlogger’s upcoming event.

I’ve also been trying to cram in people and ideas. Twyla Tharp. JD Salinger. Ruth Park. And I’ve been listening to Cloudstreet via Audible as I walk around the park. It’s a great way to get lost in another world, listening to Cloudstreet. I highly recommend it.
We had a pretty nice Father’s Day yesterday. Did you? What did you do? I cooked a big breakfast for the house. The kids gave Cam a really obscene amount of chocolate. And then the kids vamoosed and did their thing and Cam and I watched Orange Is The New Black for most of the day and ate crepes with lemon and sugar. (Actually, we did go for a bit of a walk and wonder about the new FroYo and fancy ice-cream shop on our street. In the end we went to Trampoline!)

Back to the book. We’re not sure what my book is going to be called yet. I’m calling it The Friendly Society. Since I came up with the idea, it’s been called The Friendly Society. It might end up being called something else, depending on how it all turns out and marketing and the like, but to ME… it’s totally Friendly. With a capital F!
My book is a reminder. To make things and cook things and look after yourself. It’s about being your own best friend and having nicer times. It’s full of ideas, activities and inspirations, reminders to do the things that make you feel good. It’s about navigating tricky times and celebrating happy moments. That’s sort of what it’s all about.
Do you think that sounds good?
Write soon and tell me what you think!
x Pip
