Hello!
I have been really busy with work, but I am slowly slowly making this blanket too!
AND I’m doing the Blogging Your Way course with Holly. AND I’m super loving that. You should totally do it next time if you are a blogger and haven’t done it already. SO very good and helpful and inspiring!
Also, today Rin and I were on TV! You can watch here if you live in Australia. It’s pretty cute!
Plusl, we’re having vegetable soup for dinner and it is FREEZING cold! (Last night there was a mini earthquake, too! It was tiny but scary…)
What are you having for dinner? What are you up to?
xx your pal, Pip

Love whatever it is you are crocheting. It's supposed to be summer here (uk) but instead we have had months of rain ๐
Am busy mentally preparing for my first crochet class I am giving at the local library. V nervous!
Oh I wish I knew how to crochet. Must watch your tutorials. I'm super interested in the BYW course. Think I might just have to squeeze it in between uni, babies, exercise, eating, etc etc!!
Ps I had a yummy yummy pea and roast pumpkin risotto for dinner followed by a lovely drop of liqueur baileys coffee!
Pps it is quite chilly here too for queensland standards. Not as cold as melbs though!
it seems that everyone is crocheting now! And it is a wonderful hobby that magically turns into an obsession. I find it so magical how from a ball of yarn so many things can be created seemingly out of nothing…just wonderful ๐
I will have to take a peek at the TV show pip OOh I love your crocheting you are so clever I still haven't learnt I keep meaning too (never seem to get time)!!
Enjoy your soup, I am making a Lazagne tonight ๐
Love the colors in this project today! I am in a yarn funk/boycott! I have a bunch of WIPS sitting in a corner collecting dust. It is summer over here so I guess it is to be expected.
Pip, that blanket is coming along bew-tifully!
I did a shimmy and shake on Tuesday night too. It was pretty scary to start with, then (when I found out no-one was hurt) it was just super exciting. I have never been in an earthquake before, and I am quite happy if that is the last time I am in one, but it was certainly an experience!
I am having a delicious potato bake for dinner tonight, with Ange's Fried Chicken. Ange is my friend who gave me a great recipe for not-fried chicken she makes for her hubby. You soak the chicken in buttermilk for a couple of hours (or overnight), then drain the buttermilk, pat breadcrumbs onto it, spray it with oil and cook it on a rack over a tray in a hot oven. You can add whatever flavours you like at any point, and it's super delicious. I added salt and pepper and a sachet of French Onion soup to the breadcrumbs and it's the most delicious thing I've ever tasted.
I'm going to make an extra batch to take as lunch to my sister's dance concert on Sunday. I think my family will love it and think I am super.
aaaah, great little vid ! So much gorgeousness..and can i say, I reckon if one of those hideous button bouquets hit you on the head ..pfwoar…
AH! I did a little swatch first to work it out. You start skipping stitches in the third row… Basically the pattern repeat for the third row is (in AU crochet language) (DC 4, DC 3 into the next stitch, DC 4, SKIP 2) and then you repeat that for row five. And then in the fifth row, with all the (AU) Quadruple Trebles you skip FOUR between the fan patterns! If you just get the first and second rows right, the rest is easy! (and you an correct any miscounts as you go by adding in or subtracting a DC here and there!
Re the clip : I linked to it above, but it might be hard to spot! xxx
Well…it is really HOT here in the northeast new England. It is going to be near 100 F. Today….I am just about to put on my bathing suit!!! I love your crochet pattern…I have never seen that before….I would LOVE to know what it is if you would be willing to share!!!! You put another log on the fire and I'll jump in the pool!!!! Happy day to you!
Was thinking of you over there rocking and rolling. Very scary I am sure. I am doing some late night screeen printing, finishing off work to hand in for end of semester, writing all my ideas down and planning my installation ready to hand in tomorrow. Kids home from uni and tree planting gigs. Nice.
will the TV clip be on the internet for us non ozzies to watch?
sounds silly, but I tried the stitch you are doing and am having mega headache with it! Perhaps it was too late in the day yesterday to start it but,, wow, my counting was all out after the first section.. The pattern doesn't mention skipping to make the opposite ripple… or does it? Well, yours is coming along lovely. ๐
You two are so cute! Can't wait to see pics from the big day too. You seem to have been quite the influence! I am trying to fit in as much reading and knitting time as possible lately. Everything else seems to be taking up so much time, I'd like a whole day off just to knit and read. ๐
How you find the time, I do not know!
I've had a good peek around now and hence have a much better idea of who that lovely Rin is! x
I too am nursing my sleeping sick bubba. There's a roast chicken in the oven, the fire is roaring and I'm eyeing off my knitting bag and the snazzy lady's cape I'm in the middle of knitting. We had a doozy of an earthquake last night and I'll have no more of that thank you very much. I'm off to finish that cape so I can give that gorgeous crochet a whirl! Jo x
I truly love the new blog layout! So cute & fresh!
We are having left over meatballs from last night.I had mine with shredded cabbage & carrot while everyone else had pasta. They were super yum! Tonight I think we will have them on toast.
I am crocheting a blanket, my first one ever! It is a super simple one that I found on JustB. The pattern was for a baby blanket but Ive made mine nearly single bed size! It will take a long time because I am slow & just learning but I am enjoying making it & cant wait until it is done.
It is really cold here in Perth too. I like it a lot!
Your TV segment is so cute! This afternoon I'm holding with my sick sleeping baby while I catch up on blogs. At the moment it's quite warm here (Alice Springs), but last night it was 0! Freezing nights are easier when the days are warm & sunny. Stay warm xx
