To tell the truth, I usually avoid the scary parts of the newspaper.. but during the week of illness in our house.. i did catch a lot of the news on tv… between Antiques Roadshow and the like… and boy.. it hasn’t been that great lately…
Today with reports of shootings in the city.. when I was just about to trot that way for a morning walk.. I think it is nice to retreat to a kinder place… like ‘That Girl’…
An ABC (American) show that ran from 1966 to 1971… i used to watch the re-runs on tv from Nan’s lounge-room (usually with a tea-tray over my lap and some lovely baked beans on toast) when I was about 5 or 6. I so did WISH to be Ms Ann Marie the lead character who lived in Manhattan.. in her own little apartment… with nice neighbours upstairs and the best wardrobe you have ever seen in your life! Her boyfriend came over often to give her gifts and take her to dinner… and the rest of the time she was having adventures.. costume changes… and decorating her lovely apartment!
You can buy the box set now.. and you should.
Wishing you all happy news today.

I don’t know this sitcom, but I do love the outfits of this girl, like a Francie doll!
And what about her gorgeous raspy voice?
No doubt cigarette induced.

Another happy thing – the Stitch School at Primose Design! It’s a lovely easy guide to embroidery basics and a few fancier stitches. (Down the right hand side of the page.)
Perfect for getting into the spirit for Thursday evening…
(Thanks to my mum for the link!)
I’ve been having my own reality escape with the fabulous Sally Field in ‘Gidget’ I bought the box set recently and it is an absolute joy. Like ‘That Girl’ the outfits are truely amazing. Will definately be purchasing ‘That Girl’ next.

I always found it weird (don’t know why) that That Girl was (may well still be ) married to Phil Donahue – remember the Donahue show?
Terrible about the shootings.Mary
