Last night, I went to a very excellent exhibition. It was at MetroFive Gallery in High Street Armadale. It’s a bit swish there – no plastic tubs full o lager, no skinny jeaned hipsters sitting on the floor… it was champagne and wine amidst the jars of pencil shavings and stubby HBs. You’ll know what I mean when you go. And you should go.
Ghost Patrol and Miso were doing a busy dance of super-special work there – so very many lovely pieces in a mixed up sketchy, painty, papercutty tale of super-goodness! Their work was scattered together on the walls – rather then segregated into MINE (Miso) and YOURS (GP) – in a very street-arty-respectful-kinda way – not much ego here, methinks – just lots of sharing and handmade craftiness and a I-like-your-work-and-you-like-mine-let’s-just-have-a-party-kind-of-way. I really like that.
I saw some very nice people there too – except for one lady who did the super-butt-in while I was chatting to Mr GP. How rude. In fact, not only did she do the super butt in – she followed it with the big ‘I’m IMPORTANT’ name drop. Wait your turn thin, dark haired, tense lady. Do your Nanna proud and get some manners. And take your hands off the nice, arty boy – you’re coming over a bit Cruella DeVille and he is no Dalmation Puppy. He’s a GUY. He doesn’t LIKE that.
You can see for yourself how good Ghost Patrol and Miso are – up until November 9th.
And if you have no clue who I’m talking about, then make yourself a cuppa go here and here for a bit of an introduction.
xx Mikes
