Hello

Flying Kamikaze Mice

December 16, 2008

(please note this is not ‘my’ mouse.)

Yesterday, at 7am – I headed upstairs to wake Ari up. Not an easy task at the best of times, but I rounded the corner in my bare feet and headed up the dark, little hallway towards the stairs.

At this point, in the darkness, a mouse jumped from the six or seventh step and landed directly on my foot. I like mice, but I squealed regardless. It was a bit of a shock, you know, this early morning furry missile.

Plus, this mouse was no ordinary mouse. He was a ninja, I think. For sure he was wearing a teeny bandanna and packing a bento box. He flew from a great height onto the soft landing pad of my foot and scurried off into the morning, seeming to vanish as ninjas do.

Or perhaps he was a phantom mouse. A jumpy, fuzzy, thuddy phantom mouse. Or perhaps he was a mousey activist – protesting about Nibbles being holed up in her cage day in and day out.

I’m really not sure. But as I said, I squealed.

xx Mikes
