Hello

Flashback Friday – Homemade!

October 11, 2007

My nan knitted me this lovely little outfit. It was bright blue with white accents. She knitted and crocheted so very many things.. and i think she’s pretty hugely responsible for my crafty leanings!

I am being photographed for Tasmanian newspaper – ‘The Mercury’. I’m in the Cat and Fiddle arcade – which every one should see – it’s awesome! I’m standing next to ‘The Money Tree’ – a Christmas charity appeal where you fill the little stockings up with your donation and hang it on the tree! It’s 1974.

Happy Flashback Friday!

Speaking of flashbacks.. we did our vintage buying yesteday.. and chose 40 pretty, colourful dresses to grace the new Mikes shop! They are gorgeous and it’s VERY had not to steal one or two for my own collection. Note to self – must share!

I finished sewing up all the pear ‘skins’ for stitching night gifts – so i’ll get those stuffed and stitched up on Saturday, in time for Sundays stitchy party! Luckily Kwoozy donated some to our lucky stitchers – so i had a good head start! Thanks PeiPei and welcome HOME!

Today we’re STILL working on Brunswick St.. finishing off a few things and hanging stuff on the walls and getting stock out and pricing things and hemming curtains.. and stuff like that! I can’t believe it will ever be ready.. but it will!

xx mikes

    Hi Pip! Love the flashback!
I can’t wait to come into the Brunswick Street shop. I went to a great shop in Switzerland and thought of you and Mikes – I have posted some photos here:

Hey Pip – luck would have us in Melbourne last night on business…so of course we diverted Brunswick St to see your new shop…got a quick glimpse of your dresses and divine orange wall as we drove by in the rain…it looked so lovely!

Great stuff…can’t wait to actually get in to a MMAM to see all of the lovely goodies…although I get the feeling my accountant would call your stores ‘unhealthy’!!

    Thinking of you
