Hi Pip!! You are so ambitious…I love it, and you've chosen awesome projects!! Here in the other hemisphere (going into spring), I'm going to finish a couple of sweaters that I started ages ago, write a dissertation proposal (that counts as making something, right?), and hopefully start a pair of knee-high slipper socks that will be finished before next winter. Good luck on your endeavors!!

Hi Sandeep,
Just wondering where you buy your Japanese crochet books? Can you recommend anywhere online to buy them from?
A WIP = work in progress, so your squares would be a WIP. Good luck with it by the way, sounds awesome!

These look gorgeous, Pip! The lovely third blanket especially reminds me of a small baby blanket that I crocheted with my grandma many years ago. (Similar in colour, but a simpler stitch/design!) I'm about to have a go at making Subway Art, but once that's done, I'd really like to have a go at making some raw edge circle cushions – inspired by this beautiful raw edge circle quilt I discovered a few days ago: http://www.cluckclucksew.com/2010/05/quilt-festival.html. If I can get the technique right on a cushion or two, I'd love to have a go at the quilt later!!
oh Pip! What a lovely and lively list of Autumnal wonderfulness!! I will be starting another blankie soon but am completely hooked by Tunisian at the mo! Must finish my bright green neck scarflette! x I love the brown, cream and orange blanket! x

That's a LOT of crochet! I would love to try the market bag too, what kind of yarn is that? Can someone please fill me in on the definition of 'WIP'? This year I am making lots of crocheted squares in plain colours & then I will join them all together into a pixelated picture of my gorgeous granma when she was just a girl xx

Jemima,
Try Japanese crochet books- they are all in pictures! It took me a while to learn, but if you just practice you'll be great. I never beleived I would be able to do it, but I was so jealous of all my friends being able to, I just kept going. Use You tube too. A time committment to begin with yes, but once you can, you'll be doing it all the time!!
🙂

These pictures made my eyes water!
I'm getting married this September and over my dress and make up, I am more concerned with making pot holders to make my mothers kitchen (I'm marrying in my home town) where lots of exciting Indian food and pictures will be taken, look pretty!
Even more crazy than this, I've started making a baby blanket….mentaalllll!
I always use Japanese crochet books, as I can't follow written patterns, and I love the traditonal English come French look Japanese Crochet books are styled around.
Bit of ramble!!!

I'd love to: – finish knitting a toy elephant I started a month ago – knit a baby blanket/booties for an expectant friend – learn how to crochet.

Ooh, I agree with Miss Milla! I have a lot of wips to finish off, a couple of blankets and a hat that I'll need when the weather cools. As for things I want to make – I thought these potholders were adorable http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90566AD.html?noImages=0&r=1 Happy crafting xo
This autumn I would like to finish all my WIP's. There is too many of these on the go to be thinking about new projects, but all yours look lovely and I too would love to make a Catherine wheel blanket too. I've been admiring them for a long time. Here's to a creative, productive, crafty autumn for you!!!!!!

I want to finish my current sewing project (a simple short sleeve shirt), and then maybe move on to something a bit more complicated to build my skills – I'm thinking something in an asymmetrical top.
