This is such a cute and clever project. The fabric squares were sewn together back to back, then Ms Heidi blanket stitched around the edges and then crocheted into the blanket stitch. Far out brussel sprout, super lovely and a super great designed-as-she-went project. Clever clogs!
Such a cute simple idea. Totally gleaned from some cute Japanese craft book, methinks! Don’t tell Martha I said that! She might punch my head in, because she’s totes street since she went to prison.
Flight of the Pook
… is going to sit on her couch and show you how to make this rug. Actually she has already done that. You can see her and her ruggy cuteness right here (right now!)
It is getting cold here in Melbourne, we are entering the SERIOUS crochet and craft season. Maybe you don’t know how to crochet yet? Or maybe you only do granny squares? The time is nigh to make a RIPPLE BLANKET! Lucy shows you how and you should totally listen quietly and follow along with her. I made my first ever ripple last year thanks to Ms Lucy. If I can do it, you can do it!
I think I have featured this before, but I want to include it here, because it is so lovely. Debbie Stoller of Stitch Nation fame has a yarn line and this is one of her patterns. It’s called Weekend in Stockholm and it may take more than a weekend to make, but it will be totally worth it. If I were to make this it would take at least 52 weekends, but I am tardy. Maybe you are not!

oh yes! my fingers have been itching for some cosy craft. a crochet rag rug just might be the go…
Love all of these! Great little collection.
Heidi! Your blanket is so gorgeous! I can see how LONG it must have taken, and it was well worth it! So beautiful and fresh and clever!! xxx
WOW Thank you so much for showcasing my Fusion blanket, I really appreciate any feedback I get!!!
….it now explains why I have had requests overnight for more info ๐
xxh
Thanks Pip! Very nice. I have seen the material joined with a flat braid crochet before, but I like this big chunky crocheted join as well!
And the ripple blankets – aren't they just fabulousness??!
Love how that top blanket combines two of my favorite things – fabric & crochet. ๐
wonderful projects – I really really love the napkins and the crochet and fabric blankie … but everything is pretty yummy ๐ I haven't crocheted for about 30 years … maybe now's the time to pick up the hook again?
I seem to remember that tension was a big big issue! LOL
Pip, would you believe I was trying my luck (skills) at that exact ripple crochet blanket just last night!! You, me… we psycho… non?
p.s. (I was inspired by your gorgeous blankets)
Those are all so fabulous! I'm going to have to work on the crouched skills!
what lovely links, I have made a few ripple blankies with Ms Lucy's awesome pattern. I am loving the patch work mixed with crochet in the top photo, may have to give it a whirl
I made a crochet rag rug a while ago and they are fun and very cheap to make. Easy to clean and feel wonderful underfoot, especially this time of year.
My knitting needles are permanently out now..just finished a Mimku Shawl..yay!
On to the next project..a spiral scarf.
Love the projects Pip.
I LOVE the Crocheted and stitched blanket, and the Ripple Blanket. Would love to try making them. Not sure if my crochet skills are up to the challenge yet, but you have inspired me to get moving with my practice. Thanks! Tracey
Love the crochet and fabric blanket – excellent idea!
just beautiful ideas!
i love the round rug and the fuzzy accessories ๐ and i agree about those fruity napkins but won't dob you in to ms. stewart, certainly not.
Phhht! Take you 52 weekends! Oooo you are a trickster Miss Pip…you whip things out left, right and centre almost every day! Whereas I am lucky to produce two crafty type items a year. Love LOVE all these delightful things, especially the ripple blanky, which I think will be one of this years projects for me. Thank you again for sharing X
I'm completely thrilled by all of those blankets. I think I'm going to try a ripply one ๐
You & I are speaking the same crafty language! I have almost finished my first crocheted afghan rug, and I love it! I've always been a knitter, but now I prefer crocheting because of the fast results.
