Aw hai. How are you? I am GOOD. I was on deadline for my book… in a world of crafty freaking outness. And now my book shoot and release date have been moved back. So I am practically done and not under pressure anymore. Phew!
This is really good for me! I do have quite a lot of other work on, but I am really thrilled that things aren’t quite so crushy anymore. Thank gawd.
On the weekend we went to Flinders for one night. We stayed in a cheesy motel (exposed brick, laminex, pine, swoon) and had fish and chips for lunch. Then we went for a walk on the pier. Next we went back to the room and the boys had a swim. Then we ordered Thai and ate dinner in the room off tiny plates, watching crappy telly. Actually it was not all crappy. We watched a really ace show about toy collecting. It involved men going into storage lockers and beaming every time they found a Batman in a box. I feel the same about finding treasure, so it was a pure (not crappy) pleasure to watch.
I slept late. Til 7. LOL. Then we packed up slowly and drove to Rosebud to go the trash and treasure market. I bought a ceramic swan and Cam bought me a Rock Follies album on vinyl. COOL! Ari bought some DVDs. Next we went to Dee’s Kitchen in Dromana and had a really delicious breakfast. I loved it there. You should go. After that we drove to Mornington and popped into the super cute Lilo Cafe. I nipped next door to buy a couple of books (Virginia Woolf for me and Stephen King for Ari). I think at that point I lost my sunglasses. Dang. They were Jackie O Raybans. Dang. Like the ones Michelle has. Woe. Is. Me. I’m not SURE if I lost them there, but it was the last place I remember having them. Poop.
We drove home after that and settled back into book finishing life. Little did I know that 2 days later I would not be in book finishing mode anymore. Phew. Soon enough it will all roll back around as we are shooting next month. For now I am enjoying a bit less bookyness!
I went to Kirsty’s exhibition last night with my little family. It was nice to see her WHOLE family there. Even nicer to see her beautiful, seepy, inky, poetic work.
Things are quite drama filled at the moment, actually. I read somewhere that this is due to some astrological occurrence called Mars In Retrograde. I’m not into it. I read that you need to be aware that conflict and low energy are rife. I don’t like the sound of THAT. I’m going to tread carefully…!
At the moment I am nuts about:
#opshoptunes
National Geographics
Larksfoot crocheting
Milk Coffee biscuits
90210
imperfect blogging
snapshotty Instagramming
condiments
a new ecourse I am writing!
What are you nuts about? What have you been doing?
