Hello

A Day of Lists…

April 30, 2007

Ouch… my head hurts.. must write lists…

Things to do…
make a patchwork purse a la Crafters Companion
try one of the designs in my Japanese Embroidery Book
make up a sample rectangular tote bag from the pattern i bought
sew up the pockets on the pink scarf i made
write list of interview questions for Mikes new blog interviews with fabulous people
finish the plan for the new window
make a quilt
take up hems on a number of way-too-long-for-mikes-gals 70s dresses
source more cushions for store

Things to find for customers wish lists…
a zip thru fur vest
a long hand tooled leather wallet
a few very long skinny 70s printed scarves
an 80s formal dress in size 12
golden book – Peter and Pal

Hmm… that feels better! Heading out of town for the day to visit some of our antique ladies! Yipppeee! That means pink lamingtons and cappucinos.. very delicious and daggy! Our stationwagon is off the road.. so it is the merc today (think 1984 model).. which is great.. because it has a cassette player.. which means lots of rewinding and fast-forwarding fun!

One more list…
Collect money for walkathon
Pay Max’s camp deposit
Buy things for a big pot of minestrone
Find Ari’s reading book
File all paperwork that is sitting at bottom of stairs
Put away all the things on the stairs
Pay for Ebay purchase of 10 back issues of Domino magazines
Tidy laundry
Fill out MS readathon form
Find Ari’s lost Nintendo DS
Look for linen to make tea-towels

Hmm.. OK.. that’s it for now….

On a Miker note.. we are half full of WINTER things.. so the shop is all cosy and knitted and smocky and nice! Come look! Also Kim’s Jewels are really lovely.. made from Mahjong Tiles, Rummy Tiles and other game related pieces – they are really cute and whimsical. And on Thursday our big batch ‘Keep Calm’ tea-towels from Lark will arrive! Plus new dresses from Joachim and Anna.. and 4 suitcases full of vintage garments are due on Friday afternoon!

xx mikes

i too think making lists is very encouraging, but i only have one thing noted one my list and that is work, work, work…
I have to finish a bunch of drawings today and i want to make new stuffed cats, I have a lot of ideas in my head but no time to realise them. I love the drawing of the owls. did you make that?? Good luck!

Making lists can be very comforting, I agree!
A pity I can’t visit your shop, a bit far, I’m afraid. But looking at nice things (golden books!) on my computer can be satisfying too.
Thanks for the nice compliment on my drawing 🙂

    I’m feeling a little dizzy …

Wish I’d kept my school formal dress for you. Electric blue tafetta, ruched down the side, drop waisted on the angle, tulle over skirt.

    Did I mention the perm?

Have a lovely drive in the gorgeous Autumn sun. Enjoy the pink lamingtons
