See Fonzie here? Well he’s all set to start casting on via the thumb method.
Aunty Pat (knitter extraordinaire and former tv star) came to Brown Owls last night, and showed us all how to cast on with one needle and one thumb. Instantly dubbed the ‘Fonzie Method’ – we all screwed up our noses and shook our heads to start with… but lo and behold, within minutes we picked up the technique and were grinning like Potsie!
We had a great night… with wine donated by The Cherry Tree Hotel, tea and coffee and heaps of snacks. Fran made egg and bacon pies and Christie made carrot cakes and Kirsty brought strawberries and lollies…. and the usual array of Arnott’s excitement capped off a lovely night!
Exciting news that Jessica Brown Owl had a baby girl this week – she’s obviously missing her next two meetings… but we can’t wait to meet her little Owlette!
Looking forward to next week’s crochet night! Perhaps I’ll actually learn to crochet this time!
