Hello

Cath, Batman and The Happy Family

September 19, 2007

Just some nice things to look at on this lovely Thursday!

Corinne Malvern’s illustrations from ‘The Happy Family’.

Some pages from the Cath Kidston catalogues.

Ari’s drawings.

All is trucking along with Mikes 2… yesterday I couldn’t help myself and started painting the boys room upstairs… RED and GREEN! I am tired of peaceful, gentle, sensible neutral colours! It looks a bit like a Christmassy Beach holiday at this point.. I am planning those colourful strips hanging in the doorway – the ones that keep the flies out – in green and orange and white…. and gauzey white curtains with strips of green and red ribbon around the bottom… it should look adorable!

This weekend, we are hosing down the front of the building (with carefully collected bath water) – staining and putting up shelving along the right wall from front to back – and working out what signage we are going to put up. We have an old round light box from a previous shop – i think we’ll use that. And we are taking out the ugly old airconditioner next week and replacing it with a panel of red glass. And we need to clean the black and white stripey blind that hangs over the window.

It’s all slowly coming together! Today I am making owl softies! Gotta keep myself busy, ya know!

xx mikes

Isn’t that CK catalogue gorgeous. I sooo want the sewing basket!! I love the sound of the boy’s rooms – I think they should have really colourful rooms! Can’t wait to see the new shop – very exciting!!

That is my fave Golden Book ever! Love Ari’s drawings. And the colour sounds great, I saw a Dutch house in a homes mag recently and they’d made great use of green, red and blue, really strong colours, it looke amazing. Much better than dull ‘neutrals’!
