We spent this boiling day upstairs at Fitzroy de-Marooning the skirting boards and de-citrussing the walls and de-sooting the ceiling. We preferred a palate of vanilla and deep blue sea for our lovely windowy room! It took most of the day – and on Tuesday we are going to paint the floor a soft white – and then this room is done.
We have to finish Max and Ari’s red and green room off – and paint the floor there too next weekend – and then it’s the bathroom and our room. When THAT is done, we can start on the downstairs dining and kitchen. So we’re busy bees till after Christmas, I think!
We went to a lovely party on Friday night and met some ace peeps! We absolutely NEVER get out.. so it was a nice change and good to put on some sparkly ballet flats and a noice frock and sip a Cosmo or two! Cam even put on his suit jacket and best white shirt – and we had a fun night and enjoyed two asprin and a lovely big breakfast the next morning to prove it.
Saturday was the Australian Quilt Market where I ordered our first lot of gorgeous Japanese cutesy pie fabrics – due to be delivered next March at Mikes Fitzroy. I also got organised to get some Clover products in store at Mikes – so I’m thinking some of their supercute Embroidery Transfers would be good, and some transfer pencils and hoops and floss. AND I met the lovely Prints Charming girls! Melly and Me were there too.. only super busy (excellent!) and Lyn from Patchwork on Central Park was buzzing about with a lovely frock on… and Angela too!
Allison! ‘Nature Walk’ – you know what i mean! It’s GREEN!
Next Sunday it’s STITCHING NIGHT! Yippee! Anyone who would like to send through a design ahead of time – just email it to me and I’ll have it ready – we had plans for a Christmassy theme – but at this stage the demand has been just for tea-towels as usual – if it ain’t broke, why fix it?!
xx mikes

your place is looking lovely. and your night out sounds like heaven!
Yay! to new colours, love ’em! Those old ones were such a yuk combo. The house across the road from me is that yellow with the maroon trim and I hate hate hate looking at it!
Can’t wait to see the finished pics!
Oh yes.. i LOVE floorboards too! But you should see em – half splintered, half replaced, oil stained, extremely wrecked! A sander won’t fix em! So it’s carpet or paint for us – and i want the beachiness of the boardiness! The ones in the bedroom are carpetted over – so i think they will be ok to keep as is, though! xx
This is looking lovely so far. But OMG you’re going to PAINT THE FLOOR????? Over those beautiful floorboards?? Granted I can’t remember how those boards looked in person (and if they were crummy or not) but I LOVE floorboards. All I ever want is floorboards!
Maybe white would have that nice French look though…
Yes, it does look good. I love that blue! It looks SO much better than the ‘before’ colours.
Gotta love a dress up and a few cocktails – sometimes its just worth the pain.
Ooooh looking good!
