Hello

Alice and Martin Provensen

November 20, 2007

Got a hot tip from this girl about some good oppys down past Geelong. So yesterday we snuck some time and sure enough, came up with a few good books, including a VERY big book called ‘Animal Fair’. It’s illustrated by a cuppla my faves, Alice and Martin Provensen – who also did lovely pics for Little Golden Books. It’s very much in the style of Mary Blair too. And you know how much I love her!

I’ve had lots of queries about the Christmas Shopping Spectacular at Mikes Fitzroy. Here are the details again – hoping it is a little clearer.

When – Thursday 6th December 7.30pm

Where – 63 Brunswick St, Fitzroy

What – Shopping, Champagne, Cupcakes, Chocolate Crackles and Conversation

How – Pay a refundable $10 deposit via paypal mike(at)meetmeatmikes(dot.com) – you get this back on the night – even if you don’t buy anything! You can also pay instore.

What Else – 2 hampers up for grabs on the night – one full of handmade crafty goodies, and one full of gorgeous vintage finds!

Who – lots of lovely bloggy and crafty people are attending. We have plenty of room for lots of peeps, so bring your bestie, or your mum! You CAN bring your kids if you’re having trouble with a sitter – they can play in the courtyard which is fully secure. One of the Mikes gals will be on kid duty for the night.

Why – support your local crafters and also support Mikes. We’ll be chock full of lovely things to help you cross names off your christmas list! (We promise there are no toxic chemicals in our stuff, no product recalls here.) Make new friends. Get out for the night. Follow it up with some dinner down the road with your new friends. Bring old friends to catch up with. Just come, I’d love to meet ya!

Also – Mirabel softies are still coming in – we can take a few latecomers next week, if that helps – but we will have to cut off on about the 28th. OK?! Thankyou all for your support on this – I’m slowly sifting through and letting people know when their toy has arrived – if you are at all worried about your softies safe passage, then email me, with a pic of your softie (or at least a description) so I can let you know asap and thank you too! Also check in on flickr – i have posted lots of status reports over there!

And.. we’re stitchin’ on Sunday! Wooot!

xx mikes
