:: A Sponsor For My Blog

I’m a bit chuffed to have a long term sponsor for my blog. Great! Phew. It’s very nice to partner with creative businesses who want to work on projects together. It can get lonely in this blog… with just me on this side of the fence!

Let me tell you more about my new pals:

Perhaps you are already acquainted with Annie Sloan? Perhaps not. She’s a bit of a rock star (well, literally, once upon a time!) in the DIY/rad lady/shop genius/interiors maven/book writer/handmade stakes. Think an Australian born Cath Kidston but way more rock/handy!

I’m a bit thrilled to be doing something with Annie because she is a really interesting person. For instance, she chose a life of handmade/DIY over being a rockstar. It’s totally true. Her band The Moodies (much championed by BRIAN ENO and much loved by Mick Jagger!) were invited to tour with Pink Floyd. But Annie said ‘no!’.

She decided she’d rather stay home and make things and write books and the like, that touring was a bit boring. (When she WAS performing, Annie sometimes wore a handmade KANGAROO SUIT or could be found climbing out of a giant mouth.)

When she decided not to be a rock star, she instead started a crafty business.  Her kids were quite little then and she was juggling work, creativity and parenting. Sound familiar?

I am a bit like that too. Except for the Pink Floyd bit. And the being in a band bit. And the kangaroo bit. Well… you know what I mean. The juggling bit, at the very least rings true for me!

But back to the sponsor announcement: A gang called UNFOLDED distribute Chalk Paint™ decorative paint by Annie Sloan and Annie’s other DIY products in Australia and New Zealand and they’ve invited me to work with them. More on that here.
