Spare a thought for all those customer service people out there that have to deal with Melbourne’s grumpy sleep-deprived population this morning.
salesgirl – ‘Hello, how are you today?!’
customer – ‘fine’ (in a tight voice)
salesgirl – ‘Oh… isn’t that cushion pretty?!’ (brightly)
customer – ‘i could easily make one’ (dismissively)

salesgirl – ‘Are you coping with the heat? It’s crazy, huh?!’ (sympathetic)
customer – ‘i like the heat’ (flatly)
salesgirl ‘oh’ (weakly)

Yes, I agree..There are some human shop assistants out there, people with lives & loves & interesting point of view. People who are interested in the things they sell and the things you buy.
