This morning I got up nice and early and walked in to the Market.
I love the Market early on a Saturday morning. Yep. It makes me HAPPY! I like watching people tuck into their Bratwursts. I like seeing everyone with their bed hair and their pilly track pants. I like the gentle hustle and bustle of the early morning.
I bought lots of nice things for us to eat this week – and it’s exciting to see things like Murray Bridge tomatoes for only $3.00 a kilo. Summer is close. I am going to make tomato sauce this year. Not for pasta. The sort you put on egg and bacon pie. Dead horse – as they said in the paper today.
Also, talking of the paper – The Age has a lovely interview with Kat Macleod today in the very excellent A2 liftout. You can even see what she looks like. So that made me happy. I think her dad sounds nice too. Not to mention her mum. I’m sure she’s just grand.
Happy. I’m making zucchini slice today for lunch. Happy. The Vintage Shopping Tour is visiting us this afternoon. Happy. The little seeds i planted in the garden a few weeks ago are starting to look less like sprouts and more like plants. Happy. I made some ‘Debbie Learns to Dance’ wallets and they are SO lovely I could barely put them in the shop. Happy. Cam just made me fresh coffee on the stove. Happy. It’s got skin on the top. Not Happy. De-skin the coffee. It’s skin free now. Happy. Ari is still sleeping after a big night in with visitors – and it’s 9.41. Happy.
Hope you’re happy too.
xx Mikes
PS – Thank you Poppalina for a lovey teapotty photo of the Market
