Aw, hi! Okay. So today I am quite sick and following doctor’s orders and quite miffed at not being able to jump around and do the stuff I want to do. I am not really one for slothing about. I find it quite hard to ‘do nothing’. It is my one weakness, I guess. But the good thing is that I have done lots of work and there are not any crazy deadlines looming and I can actually slow down and let myself get better.
Last night I got to be part of a cool event. I was part of a panel with some rather big Blog-Stars : Darren and Duncan. I was, apparently, the rose amongst the thorns. So I was told. I did not think they were thorns, but I did wonder about the streamlined hairdos and felt rather bouffant and uncool compared to the fellas. The Blog-Stars talked about how they approach their blogs, what blogging means to them and ways to make your blog work better. I talked about Interventions, Crochet, Navel Gazing and Dolly Magazine. Needless to say a good time was had by all. My friend-since-we-were-13 Yvonne was the MC. It was fun! I got to show off and talk about how important it is to have a blog that is true-to-you.
Anyhoo, so, we did that and sipped cider and ate noodles afterwards, and it was nice to hang with Les Geeks Excellent and be Pluto to Darren and Duncan’s Super-Sonic Solar System kind of blogs. Pluto is not a planet. But it is a really good Dwarf Planet. And I like that. Dwarf things are great, I reckon. The event was run by this group, if you are into that kinda thing. If you are not, then I do not mind one bit, I have other news that you might like!
Last night I got home and realised that the story about our beloved Alma Mater ‘Frankie‘ was aired on ABC TV’s The 7.30 Report. If you are in Australia, you can watch it here. I am on it. And so is my gal Rin… and lots of my friends too! See my pikelets! See my dining room! See my teacups, I say!
THEN I put the telly on and Gene Hunt was firing up the Quattro on Ashes to Ashes. I sipped the wine that SMCMelb had given me and marvelled at how great things can be.
Next, I woke up this morning with a LUNG made of faux-iron and a rattly affliction. Meh-land. So them is the breaks… but I just wanted to say THANKS for all your support this week, because I went in to my event and tv interview feeling like it really was OKAY, no matter what happened, because I have my peeps backing me up. And that is so nice.
Thanks peeps. For liking Pluto and not minding about my constant word-making-up-ness and sentimentality.
xx Pip
