:: Reading and Walking

September 16, 2010

Hi!

Did you know we are reading ‘Anne of Green Gables’ for our Book Club?  Well. We are. Yes.  I have this copy of the book (which I have lent to Gemma).  I have this DVD (which I watch with Ari).  I have the free version you can download to read on your iPad or iPhone.  And I have also downloaded this free audio version of the book too.  I am a downloading reading machine.  I am reading on my iPod.  I am watching on my telly.  And I am listening to chapters when I go for my walk.  Ahem.  Yes. I am walking again. And that is a good thing, right?!   I think you can’t feel snoozy and ho-hum and plump.  Well, not ALL at the same time anyway.  If you feel like that you must DO something about it. I am walking sometimes with Cam (sans iPod).  I am walking sometimes with Vic (wearing very ugly shoes : me, not Vic).  And I am walking on my own too. Go me!

When I am walking on my own I am listening to chapters of Anne on my iPod.  This is way better than listening to music for me, because I always feel like I am tuned out to the world when I have music in my headphones.  When you are listening to a podcast you can still hear the world going on around you, but you can also be tuning in to something cute and interesting at the same time.  Does that make sense? Maybe you have to try it to understand.  It is really good, though. I am grinning away as I hear all about The Lake Of Shining Waters, Perfect Graveyards Of Buried Hopes and Geraniums Called Bonny.  It is quite lovely.  You should try it.

It’s not too late to join Book Club. We will be running the two current books until the end of the year.  So you can sign up here if you would like to.  Maybe you will read in bed, or in the bath?  Maybe you will listen on the train or while you walk? (If you are reading Anne with an E.)

Are you reading with us?!

xx Pip
