Hey Happy Monday to you!
We went to the Queenscliff Music Festival yesterday. (Yes it HAS been kinda busy ’round here!) It’s held in a sleepy little town every year and there are 3 days of bands and good times. We just went for the Sunday, as we had lots of other things going on. We were lucky enough to somehow swing two rooms at the Vue Grand (including breakfast) extra cheap. I do not know how that happened, but it was totally affordable. It’s such a lovely old hotel, not heavy on facilities, but just cute and charming in a Nanna kind of way. After consulting our friends on Twitter (thank you iPad!) we had dinner at the Bowling Club on Sunday night. I totally LOVED that because there was an awesome mix of people who had been at the festival and lots of locals in their noisy track-suits. The food was unpretentious and the views over the ocean and the bowling green and the tennis courts were fantastic.
These photos are of Clare Bowditch and The New Slang. Fresh from touring with Leonard Cohen, they stood in for Megan Washington who was unwell and could not perform after all. I was sad not to see the very ace Megan.. but I was so so so happy to see Clare and her band. They were rad. Not only are they a great band, but they seem to really love playing together… and they are FUN. Clare is really cute and funny and she sings like a colourful bird. She is charismatic and pretty and naughty and clever, I think. I love her. I do.
Dear Megan, I hope you are feeling better. I will see you soon.
I have some other photos to show you of our weekend. I will put them all in the next post, I think. I hope you like these ones. I really do. There was very little light and lots of movement, so they turned out great considering my amateur photography skills and tricky conditions.
I hope your weekend was really great. I hope you are getting out and doing good stuff. I think you should, because the good stuff keeps you going through the hard times. So go do good stuff.
xx Pip
