Holy cow. I have nearly finished this part of the work on my book. Then there is the next part : the shoot. Then there is the next part : the edits. Then there is the next part : the illustrations. Then there is the next part : final edits. Then there is the next part : publicity. Then there is the next part : PUBLICATION! Awright!
I am so lucky. I get to write a book. Yay me. But golly. It’s such a long, fun, exhausting, brain numbing, fantastic, satisfying, stressful, meditative, challenging, energising thing to do!
I’m totes knackered. I’m five months in. The projects have been designed, patterns made, instructions written, patterns tested, instructions tested, fabric chosen, palate decided. I nearly have all the samples done in time for Monday. I shall be working my butt off (quite literally, actually) over the next few days to get finished, and then the fun of Le Shoot! (Where I am fairly sure I will be finishing off stitching a couple of things at the eleventh hour!)
This book is a sewing book. It’s aimed at beginners and people who just LOVE crafty books. And it’s full of simple, cute projects that you will want to make. Our photographer is really super ace and I am a huge fan of his work. And we have a great team pulling it all together. It is going to be a lovely book. Just you wait and see! It’s due out in October. And it has the cutest name. It does!
But back to the shoot. I can’t wait to see the photos! I just can’t wait! I’m going to take some snaps of the shoot to show you on the blog. So you can see where we are and what we did and how fun it is. That will be next week. We’re shooting for a few days over a couple of locations, so it will be huge and ace, I think!
But. At the moment, I really do have to make a skirt. Or else I shall be in trouble. So I am going to make a cuppa coffee and skirt up. Or else my deadline will be toast.
And you? Watcha doing? At yours? I like to know there is a world beyond the crafty digs de Mike. I do.
xx Pip
