Joseph Connolly is a clever man with an enviable beard and a way with words. He has written quite a lot of books, both fiction and not. I am particularly interested in his non-fiction works, namely this book about PG Wodehouse and this book (above) which I just borrowed from the Fitzroy Library. Eighty Years of Book Cover Design (by Faber and Faber) is a pictorial celebration of all that is good about Faber and Faber. Released last year, the covers featured date back to the 1920s, and there are PLENTY of covers, believe you me. This is a big fat book full of beautiful typography and design. You will love it. I am sad to take it back to the Library, but I do understand about the sharing thing, so I will. You might want to reserve this after me, if you are a City of Yarra Library person.
