Hello! Let’s rewind to Sixties Sweden, shall we?
These lovely pieces are by Mari Simmulson. Originally from Estonia,ceramicist Simmulson got itchy feet and flew the coop. She soon settled into a stylish Swedish nest, becoming a citizen in 1952. The Svenski sensibility obviously agreed with her, because she made some really beautiful work there, especially during the late 50s and into the 60s.
We know that many good things come from Sweden. I like Swedish Fish, nice meatballs and Lykke Li. Perhaps you have your Swedish favourites too? Maybe you could add Mari to that list? What do you think?
