Today in Ask A Grown Writer, Kate Forster is our guest.
Kate is the author of heaps of BOOKS! For adults: The Perfect Location, The Perfect Retreat, Seduction and Close Up. For young adults: Unlucky Break, Head over High Heels, Beauty and the Beat, Piece of Cake and Twice Upon a Time.
Here are Kate’s top tips for writing(online and off!)
1. Write as though you’re telling your best friend what you saw, what you think, or what you want. If you’re telling a story, tell them – but through words. Don’t try to be anyone else but you when you write.
2. If you’re unsure as to whether you should post something that might be too personal or controversial, sit on it for the day, or sleep on it and trust your intuition.
3. Check your work. Read it aloud. Use the spellchecker in your blog software. Use Grammarly or the like. Put it into a word document and check. Did I mention check your work? Yes. Do that.
Thanks Kate!
