1956 Caldecott Winner – Feodor Rojankovsky for his illustrations in John Langstaff’s ‘Frog Went A-Courtin’! Really lovely. Amazing drawings and so beautifully coloured too!

Looking forward to a lovely trip around the blogs this morning to check out everyone else’s vintage illos!

Oh, is this where that song comes from?

“A frog went walking on a Summer’s day ah hum, ah hum”
“A frog when walking on a Summer’s day, he met Miss Mousie on the way, ah hum, ah hum, ah hum ah hum ah hum”

If so I have GOT to get this book. My mum used to sing this song to me and now I sing it to my kids. Some verses of it are a little strange….
