‘My Home’ by Renee Bartkowski – recently found at Engadine Upstairs Books with the original 29cent price on it. I smiled all day. Especially on the houseboat page.
My very favourite L.G.B. has to be The Most Wonderful School, the teacher of course was Miss Tilly O’Toole who taught all her lessons in riddles & rhyme, and those who learned fastest were given a dime!
When I found this in the Apollo Bay Op Shop about ten years ago, I admit I shed a tear of nostalgia. Every illustration was etched into my memory.
absolutely The Very Naughty Bunny. i think that’s what it’s called. he drew on the walls and got sent to bed and the illustrations are DELIGHTFUL.
Clearly a classic for a reason-
I love The Pokey Little Puppy
& I Can Fly- Mary Blairs illustrations are gorgeous.
There was also one about a house- babys house maybe- very cute too.
I think illustrated by Mary Blair too
Well I can see I’m not alone here; my fave is the Pokey Little Puppy. I think it’s where my great love of food was born!
Yes, so many classics but I would have to say ‘I can fly’. The illustrations are sooooo cute.
I think it’s called The Little Tugboat – it’s been a while but I always loved it.
my absolute favourite was the pokey little puppy, it was my first book.
My memory doesn’t work too well, but was there one ‘The Tawny Scrawny Lion’? It was my fave ever because I love lions!
My fave is the “The Monstor at the End of this Book” where Grover from Sesame Street speaks directly to the reader, warning that there is a monster at the end of the book. He tries tying the pages shut, nailing the pages, and evens builds a brick wall. But, of course, we cheekily keep turning the pages until the last page is turned and the monster is revealed to be our beloved puppet himself. It was such a class favourite the my Year 1 teacher gave a copy to everyone at the end of the year. Aw.
Definately the Pokey Little Puppy!! That has to be one of the best childrens book ever.
The Color Kittens…
My fave is The Pokey little puppy
oooo..I have two faves. One I actually own and was my mum’s. It’s a little recipie book for the Easy Bake oven she once owened. My fave one though (and I can;t remember the name) was about a grey Fedora (spl?) Hat.
