I like to make things. Maybe you do too? I am working in the shop today and sewing in the ends of this blanket. I started it ages ago and have put it aside to do book things and other worky things. It’s nice to come back to it and make a bit of progress!
I’ve got John Grant on the stereo and I am sneakily watching The Real Housewives on my computer, with an earphone in, between customers.
The lady who just came in on her lunch break told me she does embroidery and makes things with beads. Nice.
What do you make?
xx Pip

Love making dolls, but always a bit sad when I have to post them away…
At the moment, I am crocheting a rag rug out of old coloured sheets that I picked up at op shops for $2 each, and some that my nanna gave me π I just finished a red puff stitch crocheted beret, which is pretty cute, and good for these cold Perth days. My nanna just taught me how to do some basic knitting (ie as in one stitch), so I am knitting my mum a scarf π (all of this and trying to study for exams at the same time… Hmmmm)
Pip xx
I'm making two baby quilts for my two new grandbabies!! They have applique, embroidery, and hand quilting.
Unfortunately I am not sewing at the mo….but i am busy in the studio making my new exhibition works. I am a glass blower with a love of all things japanese. Currently I am prototyping Ikebana vessels for Australian natives. Proteas, eucalyptus that kind of stuff. you can have a peek on my blog if you like x
its so beautiful! great handmade work! recently i have tried to do some soutache jewellery but its too diffucult for me:) but im not give up! good luck! π
I'm looking at a crewel I did some time ago – it's a compilation of American Indian items and someday I'll take a photo of it to share.
Lets see, soap, crochet, leatherwork,to name a few. I make all sorts of things…I never stop…I think I have issues:) Nice blog btw:) Amanda
I make a few different things depending on my mood. Sometimes I knit and crochet, I love tunisian crochet the best. I make hats, mittens, scarves, brooches and toys. I will do a jumper one day! At the moment I am making a giant crochet floor cushion.
I have started making quilts and sewing more and more. I like making things from found objects like covering the little rings off milk bottles with crochet.
I also sometimes make resin bits and pieces which I turn into jewellery. I love my little drill and have started making jewellery out of old cutlery. fun.
I am sort of making socks but not really. I would LIKE to be making socks but can't because they seem hard. I have sock wool. I have awkward little double pointed needles. I have a pattern which is too hard. Maybe a sock tutorial? Please?
I'm making the most hideous (as in bright and clashing coloured) crochet blanket for my bestie! I'm sure she will love it!
I am making my first ever full quilt from a vintage curtain with a cute panda pattern. This is for my sister's first baby and I am looking forward to seeing it finished.
Let me see…mmmmm…. I make wonderfully colored crochet blankets just like you… Oh, and I dye my own yarn…
Uuuu I like to make coffee and every now and then I put vanilla in it. I'm really good a home made chocolate cake too. π
I would love to make a dress for my 4 year old daughter and have thought of making a top for my 14 year old daughter because the clothes out there are just not good for a 14 year old girl. BUT! I tell you…I don't know where to start.
You have inspired me…I'm going to make coffee right not with vanilla in it, clean up after lunch and then head on down to the fabric store…Maybe I can learn to make more things.
Love your blog! It's great fun!
Have a great day!
I've just started my first knitting project – a short sleeve lace cardigan in a charcoal grey. I'm busily knitting up the tension square! eeekkk.
But mostly I sew & I am in love with my sewing machine.

I am currently working on a patch quilt for my son. I took apart a pair of Army ACUs (the digital print uniform). I removed everything, all the velcro, straps, buttons. I took apart the entire uniform, stitch by stitch. I then cut them into 5×5 squares. Now I am in the process of sewing them together and putting an underneath side and border on it. After this part is completed, I will then add all the patches my ex-husband had recieved and sew them onto the quilt. Each time he recieves a new patch,it too will go on the quilt. It has taken me much longer than expected to finish it.
Whatever I can! I try to always work out if I could make something better/cheaper/nicer before buying it – knitting, sewing, thrifting etc are all considered before shelling out on anything. It means a delay on getting pretty much ANYTHING in our house, but hey, we spend less…
Currently working on a new drawing. That is a lovely blanket!
I want to make a start on a laptop case I have been thinking about: I have a laminate by Marimekko, old gym mat (the thin foamy kind) and a pile of vintage material to choose the inside layer from. The laminate has a lot of white on it, so I plan to paint it on the inside of the material with silk paint to get an overall darker shade (though I want to keep the prints visible). But first some boring old paperwork.
It's so cold today – I'm making an apple shortcake & some carrot & fennel soup.
Other things I've been working on lately are jewellery, greeting cards, & my blog. π
I make handbags from recycled leather jackets http://www.minaandoli.com plus many little side projects. The most recent is a hand stiched quilt from old kimonos
Just returned to crochet so I did two flowers and sewed them on a grow suit for my niece. Yay quick and satisfying project (and watched a bit of your learn to crochet video. But did not donate because I am poor π I will when I am rich – promise x)
Loving this blog!
I make handprinted bags and have just finished my folk art inspired bike design, you can see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexandrasnowdon/5750833241/in/photostream
I have to say I'm completely addicted to printmaking…
I'm always working on a few projects at the time: a knitted baby cardigan, two different baby blankets, crochet letters, sewing a skirt for me and my daughter, crochet fruit. To much!
Hi Pip! Love your work! I am having a bit of a crochet craze at the moment. Just started a granny square blanket last week, but have been sidetracked by crochet beanies for babies and some cute headbands for kiddies. Crocheting myself sick! Enjoy a cosy night under your cute blankie. L xo
I've been knitting a scarf for freaking months now. I'm on holidays soon though, so maybe I'll finally finish it then?!
I am trying to make a crochet blanket and some softies, in between everything else that life is. I MUST do more craft in June π
I'm doing lots crochet cakes and muffins at the moment. And planning to do at big, white wedding cake. Just for the fun of it. You can check some of them out here (it's in Danish, but there's plenty of photos)

I wish I could crochet! One day I'll teach myself. I'm currently knitting a little boys hoodie. Otherwise I make all-natural gourmet muesli. Lots of it! I sell it at my local Farmers Market. Nothing like keeping the neighbourhood regular (-;
I am currently making a fabric roll from your first book for my best friend's birthday! I am also adding a little applique birdie!
Hmmm. Thinking of what I'm making has made me realise I need to finish a few things! I've got a cross stitch, crochet blanky (my first ever) and a raindrop paper thingy on the go. It's nice weather to finish things off at the moment π
I have just finishing making a beautiful baby blue blanket for my baby grandson. It has took a year so far – but, so close to finishing!
I have just finished a cushion cover for a swap, I can't stop making frilled crochet scarves (I am kind of thrilled by them) I am making cards , I am making fabric flower brooches. And always making hay whilst the sun do shine : ) thanks for asking xx
a) that blanket is awesome
b) you look cute and kinda sneaky in that photo
c) i'm making pincushions, little knitted vests, decorated journals and a bag
d) your blog is awesome – thanks for writing it π
I'm making a tea cup, crocheted from a plastic bag at the mo.x
I've been working on a crochet blanket in browns and greys since the beginning of July last year – then got tennis elbow after 3 days and am only a quarter done.
At the moment, I'm putting off a cortisone injection 'cause I'm a wimp.
Love your rug, by the way π
At the moment I am knitting a monkey for my soon to be born nephew. I am also working on a dress for the 1 Pattern 7 Bloggers challenge I am taking part in.
i make food. lots and lots of food π
i'd love to learn to sew and knit. i've got basic sewing machine skills (ie making pillow cases) but beyond that, i have lots to learn!
The blanket is beautiful! I do drawings which may or may not turn into embroidery, whatever gets past my judges panel( myself). I have been making miniature furniture as of recently as a hobby. I have been having a blast! I also cook a bit too. Your book looks amazing by the way. I've enjoyed seeing snippets!
Right now I'm making pizza, but I also like to sew clothes for myself and my two year old daughter. There are some jars of fruit in my liquor cabinet, damson, feijoa and quince gin, which I am looking forward to cracking open this winter. I'm making a garden out the back, and every year I say I'm going to learn to crochet and knit properly. I haven't done it yet, but I do love to see what you're makin'!
Hi Pip,
Firstly thanks for keeping me inspired with your books and blog posts.
I am working on a paper crane art work this arvo and just finished some hot water bottle covers and cushion covers. I'd love you to have a look on my blog if you got the time.

I make patterns, knitting patterns, which means I also do a LOT of knitting. I'm currently knitting about four different cardigans and a big lovely blanket out of noro, mmm.
I also make sewn stuff, mostly clothes for my kids but that hasn't been happening much lately since I lost my sewing room. Luckily it is finally being replaced!!!
Today I'm making a red ra ra skirt for me. I'm so tired of my everyday uniform and I need a bit of red. And frills. x
I wish i could knit! One thing I just cant get the hang of…. But I can sew – sew lots, I make Quilts – This is the one I'm making the back of today.

I am a totaly crochet addict as well as making softies. Posting my latest creation tomorrow!
somehow i've become a fabric doll maker…with boy-dolls being especially popular π
Wow! That blanket looks like a fabulous undertaking. You're so clever.
I like making things, though it is sometimes hard for me to get started. Most of my ideas remain in my head.
What do I make? I'm good at making a mess. I do the occasional crochet project β I recently made my daughter an ice cream cone. Sometimes I paint, and make homemade birthday cards. I make up stories in my head and dream of writing them out. If I see a dress that I absolutely must have, but is ridiculously expensive, I might find a way to make it myself.
crochet and embroidery are my favourite making-type things to do! but i also made so totally yummo lentil soup (a recipe from a friend) this morning – delish! π x
At the moment I am making a quilted baby blanket (only the border to go!), a granny square blanket, another crochet blanket, a knitted scarf, an amigurumi cactus, an amigurumi labradoodle, two embroideries, and a costume for the Harry Potter final movie opening night. Hmm. I am very good at starting projects, but I need to improve on finishing them!
i make mistakes. and then i use them in embroideries, collages, assemblages, sewing projects, paintings, fabric designs, photos and dinner! this makes everything more interesting, i think. xo
Today I'm working on my hottie for the Hottie Challenge…. but I keep changing my mind about the design. Time for a coffee and a think!
i love to sew im a big kath kidston fan, right now thanks to your videos im teaching myself to crochet granny squares everywhere and im happy to say im finally starting to get it and each one looks better. Thanks π
I make a lot of different things. Sometimes it is for practical reasons (clothes for my kids), sometimes for pleasure and relaxation (knitting usually), and sometimes for giving to others (swaps and gifts.) Right now I am embroidering on a patchwork quilt that I am planning to give to my youngest child.
Currently I am working on a light blue jumper that I have been knitting for the longest amount of time. I'm almost finished though and when I am done, I'll go back to my granny square rug which I actually learnt how to do through one of your books!
