I got this book yesterday at the Brunswick Street Bookstore… and it’s a WINNER!
The projects are contemporary and varied… and it has a little pouch of patterns at the back… which I was dreading opening (you should see me with those big sheets of paper patterns.. it’s like i’m possessed by Mr bean.. they go everywhere and I can NEVER find the one i want!)…
Well, anyway.. these are in neat small sheets.. each labelled around the edge.. so very easy to find the pieces you need! They really thought that through, which I appreciate!
Unlike the other Softies book, this one actually has author credits! They are the very hardworking Therese Laskey, Crafster founder Leah Kramer and clickity click photographer Laurie Frankel.
The projects are lovely… here’s a list of those who and what was contributed, in case you haven’t visited them before… Go visit them!

If you’re into sewing.. or just learning.. you should take a look at this book… the projects range from beginner to advanced… so there is really something for everyone.
There’s a little note to say these are NOT for commercial reproduction – so make 20 for your nephews and nieces.. but respect the crafters copyright and PLEASE don’t sell them!
xx mikes

oh it looks delicious.
Oh thanks a bunchy YES! Red Felt Flower is in the OTHER softies book – how confusing – see my September 24th post… What’s with 2 books having the same title?! Sure to cause a little ‘What The’-ness! I can completely understand the heads-up!xx
And fellow brisbane-ite Sarah from Red Felt Flower too.

Miss Drewzel.. I think it’s fine to make teeth of any description and sell them… as long as they aren’t made from this very pattern!
Lots of people make teeth, and birds, and balls, and owls, and lots of other things.. and that’s super good.
Just don’t use a copyrighted pattern – and always put your own spin on what you make….
Does that sound about right?
Check the very front page of the other Softies book for copyright details.
xx pip
I’d never seen this book before or heard of half the people in it…but I’ve made softie teeth before, as well as little Fimo ones. Does that make me a copycat? It’s getting a bit difficult to know anymore.
PS. Pip, could you find anything about not selling what you’d made in the other Softie book?
Look at you Miss Perfect Non Copy Cat, if only all those softie creators knew you cared so dearly. They are pretty cool, love the detail on that tree, & the tooth, so groovy. Love Posie
Thanks for the review Pip. I was wondering whether to get this and you have convinced me! I know what you mean about patterns, eek…
