Squeak Me at Mikes

oweeee.. my feet hurt and i am all achey with excitment about TOMORROW! Mikes opens at 63 Brunswick St, Fitzroy… at 12noon! We’ve got some last minute running about to do.. so don’t be early… we want it to be just right when people see it!.. strictly 12noon.. except for Kirsty our lovely eftpos technician!

we did the window today (thanks Kirst, Brooke and Rin for sewing the eyes onto the blind mice!)… it looks cute… it’s called ‘Sugar Plum Fairies and Sugar Mice’… but secretly it’s called ‘Squeak Me at Mikes’.

We’ve got some bits and pieces to finish off in the morning, a mannequin to pick up, some globes to get… a heater is needed as the temp is expected to drop again overnight… more lollies… a few prints to put up… floor to mop and some dusting too.. perhaps a few more dresses…

Mikes 1 will close at 5pm so that the gals can come over and see Mikes 2 in action on its first day!

I just want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to contribute beautiful things for our opening… And those of you who actually came to help with wallpaper and things like that. And those of you that came bearing aprons or teatowels or other lovely vintage ephemera!

For those of you that can’t be there tomorrow, please know that we’ll be talking about you (nicely!) and thinking of you! Just visit, would ya?!

Also.. I want to thank Steph for driving all the way from Frankston (best Savers ever at Frankston!) – to drop off her gorgeous bags and have a bit of stitch with us last night!

And Justine and Nic.. it was so nice to see you both and looking forward to getting up to some Team Craft mischief at some point!

And Jhoanna and your lovely two.. i like it when people come late.. because i feel so much more prepared!

Next year we are planning some nice intimate craft nights at the new Mikes… and also some bigger events at some other venues… so stay tuned.. and let me know if you have some ace ideas we can all work on together.

Thanks to you all.. i’m feeling a bit delirious and excited tonight.. but really without all you precious crafty wenches, Mikes wouldn’t be even one zillionth of what it is now… so thanks from the bottom of my heart and excuse my squishiness!
